Couldn’t check in - Host double booked

Got there in the rvening already late to an event, only to discover I couldn’t check in because the host double booked and forget to disable the listing. I spent the rest of my evening looking for a hotel with availability, impossible given a conference was happening downtown and every decent hotel within 15miles was fully booked. Ended up in a rebooking nightmare that Vrbo still has not reimbursed and compensated me for.

The apartment is beautiful. The bed is comfortable and the location is great (walking distance to restaurants and Whole Foods, 5 mins from Rice campus and major highways). The neighbors are quiet and the wifii is strong. I worked from home for those 2 weeks without any issues.
