Great Hotel and great access to MetroRail.

We chose this hotel simply because of its proximity to the MetroRail, as we going to the Houston Texans Preseason Game vs the Denver Broncos. The ride was pleasant, although crowded as to be expected. We're already planning our next visit to Houston to see another game!

Deluxe (?) room

Pros: Close proximity to the medical center and Rice University.
Cons: Dining selections are few and the food was not great. Also, the service was slow.
I booked a deluxe room for my family of 4. The hotel room description stated that this was a room that could hold 4 people. I expected a double-double or a sleeper sofa. We got a king- sized bed. I' m sure that it could hold up to 4 people but we didn't want all 4 of us in the same bed. Their advertising is deceptive.

Very good location. Expensive for what you get.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast should be included.
Location: Rice University, Museum district.
A hotel this expensive ought to provide breakfast.

Needs some work

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
Our room smelled like a locker room, there was mold present in the shower vent, everything in the room smelled musty transferring that smell to any item you placed on the furniture, as well as bed linens smelled funky.

friendly service

Some of the best and friendliest service I have encountered in a large, chain hotel. Thank you Marriott for your courtesy and the great stay!

The staff made us feel welcome and the room was very comfortable.

Pros: Quiet
The hotel was lovely and the room and beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was traveling with my elderly mother and my ill brother. We had a flat tire in the entrance and one of the hotel staff voluntarily changed the tire for us so we could get to our appointment. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Location Location

if you have to be in the medical center for any reason this is a great hotel to stay at. we had to go to the childrens hospital which is only a few blocks away, room was nice it even had a mini fridge in the room hidden under the tv they also offer free shuttle service to the hospitals in the area which is very convenient especially if you stay a couple of nights, yes they do offer valet parking which is like $22 a night but that does include in and out priveledges, yes the hotel does have a restaurant on sight if you dont want to eat there then there is a subway and chipotle across the street if not you can drive about a mile down the road and tons of fast food places due to the fact that Rice University is also just down the street.

It's a matter of what you need

The Marriott is a hotel-hotel, with a full complement of features--valet parking, restaurant, lounge, room service, fitness center, business center, pool, etc. It's clean and well-maintained. But you can get a bigger room of comparable quality for less money at any of several nearby suites-type places. At the Marriott you're paying for location, facilities, and convenience. If you've had a long day in a hospital waiting room, and you want a valet to park your car ($*), a bartender to mix you a drink, and a waiter to bring you something to eat, then it's worth the money. Caution: In the lounge and restaurant, the menus are appetizing and the staff is gracious, but the food is uninspired, institutional fare. That's not unusual in a hotel, but don't expect much out of the kitchen. Second caution: It's a nice hotel, but it is a three-star place. The amenities, furnishings, and facilities are not what you would find at a Four Seasons or an Intercontinental. Scratchy towels, smallish rooms, ordinary toiletries. It's a good, business-class hotel.

Enjoyed stay!

The staff were very courteous and helpful. Rooms were immaculate. The beds were the most comfortable hotel bed that I have ever slept in. It didn't even seem like sleeping in a hotel. Would highly recommend staying in this hotel. It is the most accessible hotel to all hospitals in the medical center. Great location!
