I love the hotel and staff. I didn’t like the parking on the 6th floor and having to walk down the stairs and along the sidewalk in order to get to the hotel because you can’t enter from the garage without a door key

The property is a total train wreck. The mini fridge and bar had been ripped out. The sheets had mysterious reddish stains and the hallway and elevator smelled strongly like weed. I also had my account charged for incidentals that were not mine. I’ve called many times to resolve the issue but have had no luck.

The worst hotel I’ve ever been to. The phone in the room didn’t work and housekeeping didn’t clean the room despite many requests.

I normally don’t complain but this hotel was awful between the staff who were rude and no help at all with people smoking marajuana on pretty much every floor. My friends on the 9th floor said it was so bad that they moved over to Post Oak hotel for almost $900 a night and said it was worth the money not to stay at the Derek because management said there was nothing they could do about smoke smell. The rooms were not cleaned, there were black spots of I don’t know what on the bed and when I asked them to change my bedding they seemed put out. Personally, I will never step foot in Hotel Derek again!!

The furnishings were outdated, it looked like an 80s explosion. The restaurant was only open for breakfast and the food was cold and was only open for dinner thurs-sun. There was a stench of gas in the lobby and elevators. I called the front desk several times with no answer. There were no towels in the bin by the pool, and I could not find anyone to ask for help. There were two people who stood out and provided excellent customer service, the young man who checked us in whose name is Sean and the young African-American woman who was manning the desk Wednesday. They were really the only saving grace for this hotel.
