I like the history of the building. The room with jetted tub open to rest of the room was a nice touch. I do think its time for the hotel to update mattresses and since there is no pool they need to work with the other marriot in downtown to have access to their pool.

We liked the room a lot. Bathtub and showers were great. Breakfast was awesome. Staff was attentive and helpful. We’ll be back.

Horrible Customer Service and Incompetent Staff

Pros: The location.
Cons: The staff, including management, needs to be competent, more caring and follow through and make sure guest needs are met.
Location: The location is in the heart of downtown which is convenient if you are doing something downtown.
We booked 2 rooms in the beginning as the Jacuzzi king room wasn't available both nights. However, we were able to upgrade and keep the Jacuzzi king room upon arrival. The Jacuzzi tub was no bigger than a regular tub and only 3 of the 6 jets were working. The next day we stripped the bed so we could be sure to get fresh linens. Since we were off to a late start, we made sure to notify the concierge standing by the check in counter to have housekeeping come. He assured us it would be taken care of. Upon a 1:30 am arrival back, housekeeping had not come. The night manager told us that no one was available now and she refused to do it herself. After two attempts, security brought us towels and 2 top sheets and a twin comforter type blanket; this for a king size bed. The manager said she couldn't refund the room do it being booked through a booking website, yet the entire room was adjusted at arrival as I previously stated. All the Mgr. would do is compliment our mandatory valet parking of $33 per night. and give us a free breakfast which tasted like powdered eggs. I had to call the booking website's customer service to get an additional adjustment. It was 5 am when it was all said and done and we had to make the bed and clean our own room at a nearly $200 per night. price! The Mgr. is the one ultimately responsible to ensure the guest have a nice stay and she should have went up and at least made the bed herself and had security watch the front desk. Quiet and Relaxing, Even on a Busy Weekend

Pros: Our room was beautiful - huge windows let in the light. Loved the eclectic decor and the huge soaking tub.
Location: Tons of bars and restaurants, theater district, right on the Metro red line.
Hotel ICON is elegant, fun, friendly, and conveniently located in the heart of downtown. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. Even though we stayed on a super-busy weekend, the hotel was always quiet - no slamming doors, no kids running up and down the halls. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a romantic/relaxing getaway.

Classy, elegant and chic hotel-

Perfect experience! Even better than the pictures! Hotel staff was fabulous and the hospitality details abounded. We stayed in the deluxe king and it was well worth the extra money. Massive, incredible bathroom-jacuzzi, gorgeous architecture and luxurious bed and bedding. We'll be back.

Hidden Gem in Downtown Houston

Location: This hotel is located in downtown Houston. There were many near by restaurants and the convention center is less than a mile a way.
This is such a fun and different hotel, not your standard "cookie cutter" Marriott or Hilton. A remodel bank building with all the grandeur of the days past. The hotel staff was great and to a person went out of their way to make our stay fun and easy. My group & I loved Elizabeth at the lobby bar and Maria in the lobby restaurant. The valet staff was wonderful. We used the hotel van to go back and forth to the convention center and we never waited more than 15 minutes for a free pick up.
