"Not Really A Luxury Hotel"
Got a deal thru a travel site, otherwise this review would be more negative. To start with, layout of hotel was very confusing–Check in on 6th floor; pool is on the roof (closed due to construction); 2 sets of elevators: 1 set to get from street level or garage ton6th floor then change elevator banks to get to guest rooms; lifts VERY slow and crowded due to construction workers' use. "Free WiFi" consists of having to register ea (max 4) device EVERY DAY; tv service terrible–few channels/NO channel guide in room; On Demand movie rental cost $18.99; In-room coffee svc terrible: very weak coffee; Room service food outrageously expensive and def not family-friendly; Emerald Lounge is referred to but no menu in room nor even any idea of where to find it; phone requests to Guest Services sometimes don't get response; room temp VERY hard to regulate; one bed very close to AC/Heat wall unit and was drafty overnight in 20-degree weather; self-park at hotel costs $40 per DAY, valet park even more. They DO provide "luxury" bathroom amenities, very fluffy pillows

"Good choice of quality / price. "
Upon arriving in the room, we realized that the fridge had not been cleaned since there was some residue from the previous occupant in it and it had just been disconnected ... OURK! On the other hand, once emptied and reconnected, nothing to say. Nice room without carpet, clean bathroom. Only 10 places available for breakfast while there were around 200 guests ... really not enough. It is more of a coffee break (not very fresh) than a breakfast, but for a break (juice, coffee and fruit) it's perfect.

"Best customer service experience!"
Travelocity should not have booked this room for us as the hotel cannot accommodate five guests in a room. The hotel could have easily asked us to book another room, however they went above and beyond to accommodate our family of 5 in spite of Travelocity's mistake. So thankful for this team of courteous and polite staff. The location is great and such a cool "Vibe" at this hote! Overall A+ experience!

"Historic Hotel"
We chose the historic Hawthorne Hotel as it was within walking distance of the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM), the reason for our stay. It was February with snow, so wanted close proximity. The Valentines dinner in the diningroom was delicious, made special with the wonderful pianist who requested requests. We enjoyed the well documented history framed and hung. Low on our satisfaction rating were the size of the room, the room temperature was very warm + difficult to regulate., and notification the morning of our departure of a fire alarm test to occur an hour before checkout.
