Nice hotel close to theater and restaurants

We were only in the city for an overnight to see a show, but our stay was very nice. I found the staff to be incredibly accommodating and helpful. They helped with directions, restaurant recommendations. Our room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed a visit to the hotel lounge as well. We will stay here again!

Fantastic Hotel Experience in the Heart of Boston

Pros: I liked everything about this hotel. From the comfort and appointments of the rooms to the location to the staff. All were fantastic.
Location: The Lenox is in the middle of the city and you can pretty much get to everything. Copley Square, the T, the Boston Public Library, Newbury street, etc
I planned a five day stay in downtown Boston for the purpose of a vacation. Many of the hotels I looked at seemed more modern and minimalist and I was looking to find a place that had some character to it. The Lenox Hotel has character to spare! From the minute we were helped by the valets to the front desk and concierge, the one thing that comes to mind is "quality". The hotel itself is beautiful inside and has a real "1920s" kind of feel. We took advantage of the sitting/public area, the handy ticket printing feature (accessible via smart phones/tablets, etc.) to print tickets for the symphony, the bar, room service and the valet parking. All of those features were fantastic. The sitting area had comfortable chairs and is right in the middle of things so you can people watch if that's your thing. The bar has a good selection of alcohols, beers and wines and room service was prompt and accurate. The valet deserves special attention because he went out of his way to share information with us about the area, made good suggestions about restaurants and bars, was friendly and volunteered to call a swanky north end restaurant on our behalf when my daughter left her purse there. This hotel is right in the middle of everything. The T is around the corner, shopping on Newbury street is a block away and there are plenty of restaurants/bars/pubs and shopping right nearby. The location is really phenomenal.

Cons: The complimentary coffee offered in the lobby was terrible. It would be much nicer to have coffee machines in the rooms
The hotel is in a great location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurants had good food at reasonable prices. The room was wonderful. Overall, it was a great place to stay. I will try to stay here every time I come to Boston.

Good Location

Pros: The location
Cons: They could treat customers that book through travel sites, like full fledged customers, that are entitled to all customer benefits.
Location: Hotel is close to many attractions; Fenway Park, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Common, Freedom Trail, among others.
The Lenox was a very nice, quiet, and warm hotel. I don't think I would consider it a 4.5 out of 5 stars, but it was nice enough. The location was very good, and we were able to walk to just about all of the places that we wanted to see. However, when booking my room the hotel did not allow me to book a regular room because we are a family of 5, they would only let me book a queen/queen Executive Room with a pull out sofa because of my family size. When we checked into our room, they gave us a terrible room, that they considered comparable without the pull out sofa. When I addressed this with them they said when you book through a travel website like Travelocity, you get what you get. However, the price that I paid was the same on Travelocity, as it was on their own website. It is my opinion that if the hotels want the benefit of filling their rooms by using a service like Travelocity, they need to treat those customers like full fledge customers, and not like step children that aren't entitled to full privileges. Like I said, I paid the same through Travelocity, as they were charging through their website. I chose to book with Travelocity because I received a discount on my car rental. So, overall I was disappointed with the policies of the hotel, but our say was fine.

The Icing on the Cake of our Stay in Boston

This is a strikingly lovely hotel. I had no idea how beautifully located the Lenox is when I made reservations. We were quick walk to luxury shopping and and easy walk to the Commons and historical sites. Every time we came back from our excursions we were greeted by friendly staff who all seemed dedicated to making our stay the best it could be. Would love to return here soon.

Classy Pants

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
The Lenox made us feel welcome and comfortable. The staff was always really helpful. The overall feel was classier then we deserved. Best of all, though, was John, who verbally battled some drunk people to make sure that we got a taxi at 3:30 am on the day of day light savings.

Excellent hotel

We stayed at the Lenox for a family visit to Boston. The staff was very welcoming and even gave stuffed lobsters to our kids upon check in. The concierge was very helpful making arrangements and suggesting activities. The kids loved the turn down service and chocolates on their pillows. The close location to Newberry Street and the T were very helpful.
