I travel to Philly often for work. I love see to live there so I know the city well. The Alexander is my favorite place to stay. It’s charming, in a perfect area, and not a cookie cutter type chain hotel. Love it.

We have stayed here several times and really appreciate the ambiance , the staff, and location. Our only quibble might be that the morning breakfast offerings (think coffee) are mediocre, so we prefer to skip it and instead patronize one of the great local coffee shops within 2 or three blocks. But that is the norm for hotel offerings everywhere, so not entirely a fair criticism. This is a great cheerful and peaceful place to stay

Older building but very quaint. Nice to have a fire going in the lobby when I arrived last evening and again this morning. Also, nice to have Happy Hour cheese, fruit and crackers; and nice to have a continental breakfast in the morning.

Staff at this hotel is competent and friendly. The lobby fireplace is inviting. I suggest that bottled water be provided as the water from the faucet was very cloudy. Hotel is quiet however, throughout the night I heard water running from other rooms. Hotel is quaint with original wood and tile and seems maintained. Bathroom was clean. Hotel room could use some dusting and clean dust from corners of carpet in the room.

The entire experience was great since the moment I arrived till the check out time, it’s very clean, location is great, the staff is very friendly. The only heads up; play some music during social hour, something vibey and maybe some activities/ games were the guest can interact with others would be amazing. But besides that 10/10. Dresden( my apologies if i misspelled it ) front desk clerk lady & Jocelyn happy hour attendant are amazing !!!

Charming boutique hotel, great value

The Alexander Inn is a charming, boutique hotel. All staff were friendly and provided great customer service. I stayed in the personal single twin room. It had a great street view, was a decent size, and had everything I needed for solo travel. Clean room and comfortable bed. A couple toiletries (bar soap, shampoo) hadn't been replenished, but it was okay since I pack my own, and I'm sure housekeeping would have brought more if I had requested. TV was old, and many channels came in with a lot of static; thankfully I found a few channels without static and worth watching. The room started out super warm (I couldn't tell if this was due to central heating that I could not control), so I set the room HVAC unit to AC to offset the heat. The unit was fairly loud but ended up being like white noise during the night, and I was able to sleep through it. This might bother other guests if they're light sleepers. Continental breakfast had a decent selection (yogurts, hardboiled eggs, croissants, bagels, pumpkin bread), and coffee was very good. The breakfast room was charming, although the chairs could have been more comfortable (more cushion). Overall, the personal single twin room was a great value, especially with breakfast included. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to everything I wanted to visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn during the Super Bowl Parade festivities. We booked the room at the last minute and were pleased to have a place to stay, so close to the parade route. The Inn offered a little happy hour in the evening that was a pleasant surprise. The continental breakfast was ample and the service nice. The only complaint is there are no thermostats in the rooms, so when we got warm, we had to crack the windows. There was no soap in the room, but we were given extra shampoo which the desk agent said was also body wash. All good. Book it!

Very nice overnight stay in a great neighborhood. Love the price and the small feel of the hotel. Breakfast is just a basic continental spread but there are plenty of places to go nearby if that’s not enough. Drinks and snacks in the evening were unexpected and a nice touch.
