Room not ready at their check in time. Girl at desk said “check in time is just an estimate”. Never heard that one in all my years of travel. Very casually said room could possibly be ready by 6:00 pm and that 4:00 check in was an estimate. Never staying here or recommending this place.

Beautiful property. Great location. Very clean and modern. My only complaint is the price for valet a night ($45) and the incidental cost a night ($125), seems a bit steep for a hotel in SLO. Nonetheless, there is a public parking building kitty corner from the property for $16 a night.

"Fireplace is on a 30 minute timer. It would be nice to run it throughout the night. The pool area was cluttered and dirty. The hot tub only seats 5 people and there is constantly 8 or more in it. Waited 2 hours to get to use the hot tub and never got to use it. Need a larger pool and hot tub to accommodate the size of the hotel. The Trellis bathrooms are to small, and the King rooms are small on the Trellis Court as well. They try to make a regular King Room look like a suite with a couch and it makes the walk around space small. The shower, sink and toilet are all cramped into a half size bathroom. The room was dirty. The restaurant closes daily at 2 p.m. We ate breakfast, but the service was poor. Had to get up to find someone everytime we wanted a refill. Had to go to the front register without a bill. Then they had to find our waitress to get it. The cashier did not know how to use the register."

"I chose this hotel based on an advertisement somewhere showing a pool and a hot tub. When I got there, the pool had been filled in, so no hot tub, no pool. The host was very kind even though I was frustrated that not all of the ads had updated. So please be aware if you are looking for that.Beyond that we had a beautiful room! It’s a great location right near a very busy, fun Dog Park and near the Madonna Inn. I would highly recommend the hotel. So nice about having our pup too!"
