A Wonderful Hotel!
We loved everything about our stay at the Sandcastle! The styling and decor are fun, the location is excellent and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed having coffee by the fire on The Deck at twilight. It’s a wonderful place and I will definitely stay there again!

Love this hotel. The remodel is beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff in lobby and cafe. Perfectly located on the beach and walkable to all the fun stores and shops in Pismo.

Do not be fooled by the photos. This was hands down the worst hotel of our 3 week roadtrip, and probably one of the grossest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I could almost let it slide it if it were a cheap motel charging $100/night, but we paid over $800 for a superior, oceanfront room (room 110). It was oceanfront and view was great. And that was the only pro of our visit. Our door didn’t close all the way, so you had to dead bolt it to close it. The carpet was so dirty, the bottoms of our daughter’s feet looked like she had been running through charcoal. Not exaggerating. The bathroom sink drain had brown gunk all around it. It wasn’t permanent staining, I used a qtip to clean it. There was mold growing in the shower, chipping paint, outlets were dirty and grimy. Our top/flat sheet was put on backwards so the tag was at our face, not our feet. This doesn’t even cover all of it. We did tell the front desk staff about our issues at checkout. The hostess seemed sympathetic and wrote everything down. She also gave us a little money back. Hopefully they’ll remedy some of it for future guests as I’ve seen another person on here post about this particular room as well.

Nicer looking hotel in the Pismo beach area. A few things we loved and a few things we didn’t like. Loves: proximity to beach, cute outdoor area with fire pit. Dislikes: thought we booked a balcony with a ocean view turns out just a balcony facing the street and had to look out down the street to see the ocean, noisy neighbors we got a weird spring break vibe from the next door hotel neighbor who brought a subwoofer on the balcony and ruined our evening. The balcony had minimal to no privacy as your neighbors can just walk over it which gave us an uneasy feeling. No pool and no hot tub which would have been nice and refrigerator didn’t keep stuff cold. We will likely not be back as this is just not the vibe we were expecting for the price but could be good for the younger crowd who like to party all night.

This years stay was not the best visit. Our room was next to the electrical room/ storage room. The workers were very loud starting from 7am and never stopped. When I told the front desk, the lady said ok that’s to bad. If your paying that much money i would hope they would be a little more understanding. Not sure if i would go back.

Great Stay!!
Great location, great walkability to the shoppes and friendly staff. They were even changing out the mattresses when we were there. We asked if they could do ours first so I could take a nap, and they did. Very quickly and efficiently! My only complaint of this hotel and many others is very small garbage cans. Not sure why so many hotels are doing this but it’s very inconvenient! You can only fit a couple of things in it and when you are traveling…with getting take out, buying things, etc…, it’s just a pain and I hate to leave a bunch of garbage piled up for housekeeping! Overall though, great stay

Decent hotel. Basically paying for location. Deluxe rooms are in a separate building behind the main building where lobby is. Parking is $25 a day. If you need a roll out bed thats also $20 a day. Also may have to call several times for extra towels lol but you can rent towels, sand toys, chairs, boogie boards, ects. And they make starbucks drinks. Would stay here again.

It was way too expensive for what you received. Front desk staff weren’t super friendly, room was mediocre and had cobwebs. Location is nice. Overall vicinity has gone down hill, walking back from dinner at night we saw a fight.
