This is an old hotel that has been remodeled. Some of the remodeling was professionally done, some, not so much. The bed mattresses are cheap and remind me of having to sleep on a futon. A rolled up sweatshirt would make a better pillow than the ones they have. The lousy bed hardly matters because you won't be able to sleep anyway. A loud noise and freezing air will wake you up each time the air conditioning clicks on. The air conditioner is actually louder than the minibar which we had to unplug to try to get some sleep.

Check in was awful. Lobby is rather small, but nice. One woman was trying to check in when we arrived, with another family waiting in line behind her. The woman checking in seemed to have had a flight cancellation and there was some sort of issue with her room rate and credit card. She was upset, and really I don't think it was her fault, or the fault of the staff, but the issue took an hour, literally. The woman working the counter seemed to be doing what she could to help but meanwhile we were all waiting, with small children who did not understand why they were confined to a small space for so long. Would be nice if there was a second computer at the desk so two staffers could help customers. Waiting over an hour is ridiculous. Other than that, the room was just ok. It's all white and rather boring. The white couch and curtains both had stains. It wasn't a filthy room but didn't feel as sterile as the white decor would lead you to believe. Small dirty issues in the bathroom but not severe. Can definitely hear the music/noise from outside but that's unavoidable due to location. Location is great. Roof top pool was lovely, we really liked that for a late night swim. Hotel itself just ok, slightly dirty which is a major turn off, and issues at check in all lead to us not recommend this hotel.

The AC was broken and we were transferred to another room. The 2nd room was much better and looked like the room advertised when I booked. The furniture was dirty and the floor was dusty where I did not want to walk on it. The stay was so-so, but I would not stay there again. Especially after their hidden "incidental" charge that's deducted as soon as they give you your room key. If the room was damaged, I see charging the fee AFTER, and not before. Will not be returning.

Amazing hotel! Cant wait to go back. Great value

Pros: Pool on the 5th floor and sun deck, free use of beach club, free breakfast, clean spacious room
Cons: Nothing, was perfect
Location: Right on ocean ave. Best location
What a nice surprise. This hotel was amazing! From Carlos checking me in to all the other staff, it was AA+++. The price was amazing. Room was great and they let you use the beach club at the Hilton three blocks away. Free padded beach chairs, towels and umbrella. I cant wait to go back
