"Five Rooms for Christmas Reunion"
My complaints: 1. The rooms were disappointing, not for lack of cleanliness and presentation, but for their bland out-dated-ness. 2. My expectations weren't met that for the # of rooms and amount of money I was spending, the Staff would have been a bit more attentive to our guests' needs. 3. It's not situated on the most interesting blocks in that area. Good things: 1. All of the guest services staff (bell, housekeeping, valet, etc) we transacted with were very helpful and were happily tipped well. 2. Given the time of year, the Hotel was totally sold out and the front desk often extremely busy. So despite my complaint above, the Front Desk tried their best. Probably just a matter of experience and training. 3. The Lobby is wonderful, and though there is not a much bar/dining options right out the door, everything is still very close.

"Super convenient!"
I decided to stay here because it was directly across from Penn Station which makes arriving and departing by train very easy. The staff was lovely - friendly, helpful. I got free wifi and a free movie which I hadn't expected. The hotel is clean but shabby. Carpets in the rooms could stand to be replaces and the furniture is pretty battered. Very comfortable bed, though. If you're obsessed with cleanliness the bathtubs may not be for you. The one in my room was clean but very stained with...? The hotel is huge so your room - as mine was- may be a lengthy hike to the elevators and there was often a wait for the elevators to arrive. Breakfast was included in my stay -otherwise it's $10.00. The breakfast was strange. Juices, coffee, tea but also big platters of cold cuts and processed cheese slices. Cut up baguettes and "pastries" that were obviously packaged. No toast, no muffin type pastries. Oddly- since breakfast begins at 7 AM - there were chocolate chip cookies ( again packaged) and one morning there was some kind of fruit bread - maybe banana? Cut up melon -which was what I ended up with. All in all it was fine. I was only in my room to shower and sleep and wasn't looking for anything fancy. Next door to Mavy's and there are several good cafes within a block.Obviously close to all public transportation -although Penn Station can be a nightmare to navigate. It's noisy because of the location but if you want a safe, relatively clean place to sleep it's fine. And inexpensive

"Best price, Best Location"
Our room wasn't the fanciest in New York City, but it was located in the heart of Broadway and Times Square! Perfect ! When we went to see Hamilton and Finding Neverland we just slipped out the South doors and the Theaters were right there! The staff was wonderful and our room was very clean and had a beautiful, updated bathroom. Beds were soo very comfortable! We had our daughter and two grandkids next door and the location to food and the shows was terrific! Because of the price and the location we were able to see more shows!

"Location is great, rooms not so much!"
The Manhattan is in a great location. The outside of the hotel and the lobby of the hotel are amazing but the standard rooms do not match what you would expect from seeing the lobby. Staff was very nice and reception desk was very professional and helpful. The rooms were old and would not have been so bad if they were cleaner. There were literally balls of dust caped up where the carpet met the baseboards throughout the whole room. There were bobby pins on the carpet when we arrived and hair stuck to the side of the shower, I am truly not sure if any of this was cleaned before arrival. However, our sheets and towels smelled clean and fresh. My biggest complaint of this hotel was that we put our "do not disturb sign" on the door one day because we left our ipads, purses, etc in the room that day and did not want anyone to go in. When we returned that evening, the sign was off the door and our bed was made and bathroom counter cleaned off. Although nothing was missing, we were still pretty mad. It was an invasion of privacy and we did not appreciate that the cleaning lady would still go into a room that said do not disturb. We purposely put the sign on the door because of the valuables we left sitting out that day. Overall, I would say the hotel was fair to good and an average experience for us. The location is worth more than anything else there.

"efficient room and hotel"
Just off 42nd st, location is OK - good for theater district. short walk to Times square. Rooms are appropriately called "cabins" as they are small but efficient. Perfect for 1 or 2 people, in and out business travelers, shorter stay tourists. Rooms are outfitted smartly, hotel offers nice common area and an ample free breakfast. I will be using this hotel in my future travels to the city.

Begin your adventure by ogling at the ultra-thin Flatiron Building, and get snap-happy from the observation deck on the 108th floor of the Empire State building. Afterwards, come back down to earth with a stroll around the 843-acre urban oasis that is Central Park, making sure to marvel at the whimsical Belvedere Castle and Jose de Creeft's bronze "Alice in Wonderland" sculpture. Cheap hotels in Manhattan are hard to come by, so you can cut costs on your trip by refueling at one of the food trucks on Madison Avenue, or by devouring a mustard-and-fried-onion-topped hot dog.
