New York City, New York, is the vibrant melting pot of the United States, and one of the most-visited cities in the world. Most tourists stick to Manhattan, where the most famous sights are located, but there are four other boroughs in New York City to explore, too. The biggest of the boroughs is Queens, which has plenty to offer visitors, and hotels near Arthur Ashe Stadium are located close to some of the best attractions in the area.
Game, Set, and Match
Arthur Ashe Stadium is named after the first winner of the US Open tennis tournament, which is held there at the end of August and the start of September. The competition is one of the big four Grand Slams, and a must-see for any tennis fan. If you're a baseball fan, Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, is just half a mile to the north, and there are regular games held there from April to October. There's plenty more to see in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, including the New York Hall of Science, Queens Museum of Art, and Queens Zoo--hotels close to Arthur Ashe Stadium are within walking distance of them all.
While you're in New York, you should see some of the iconic sights in Manhattan, which is 12 miles to the west across the East River. The Empire State Building helps define the classic New York skyline, and you'll get breathtaking views of the city from the observation decks on the 86th and 102nd floors. The Lady of New York, the Statue of Liberty, is just off the south shore of Manhattan, and you can get up close by taking a ferry to Liberty Island from Battery Park.
