Unfortunately, the city had a blackout and we were left with no television nor telephone service and the next morning the toilet in the room would not flush and was about to overflow...with the telephone in the room not working I had to go downstairs to report it to the front desk. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful place, the car service was great and the staff was 5 stars wonderful!

"right on the beach "
We wanted a decent hotel right on the beach at Venice. the rooms are very scaled down. we upgraded for a slight ocean view and a ceiling fan. The hotel is right in the middle of Venice beach activity and shops. The ocean is right there and the bistro right across the street is wonderful. They mixed up our reservation with our daughters and the inexperienced staff stressed her out during her graduation at USC. But the manager was gracious and took care of everything. I wish it hadn't happened but we ended up ok. Lots of homeless people. And the parking is a challenge

"Wonderful but Loud"
I only stayed here for one night and had a room on the PCH hwy side. I knew this could be loud when booking but the hotel has recently been renovated and I wanted to stay there. The main entrance with the outside patio is so cool - having breakfast overlooking the ocean was wonderful! The rooms have luxurious beds, new linens and hip decor. However, the noise from the road kept us awake most of the night. There is a bus stop there as well as the stop light, so cars are revving up all the time. I talked to the staff about the noise and they were so nice and gave me a gift card for my next stay and said they are trying to address the noise from the street. They are very aware of the sleepless nights! So please stay on the ocean side and your visit will be very enjoyable! I would def go back but just book a different room.

    Los Angeles Beach Hotel Guide

You’ve finished learning the fundamentals, and now it’s time to put your skills to the test. Sporting a wetsuit, you wade into the water and start making your way toward the waves. As the depth grows, you mount your board like the instructor demonstrated, and using every ounce of your upper-body strength, you paddle toward the tide. You never thought you’d be bold enough to try surfing, but now that you’re here in Los Angeles, old friend, you feel like a whole new person.

Though you’ve only been in the City of Angels for a short while, you’ve already fallen in love with it. The climate couldn’t be more comfortable, and everywhere you look you see so much beauty. From the iconic Hollywood sign to the sands of Venice Beach, and the valley’s vibrant wildflowers to the verdant hills surrounding the city, you’ve never been anywhere quite like L.A. And when you book a room at any of Los Angeles’ hotels on the beach, you can enjoy the sun, the sand, and the scene that this city is celebrated for.

But before you take off for your trip to Tinseltown, here are some answers to a couple of questions you might have been wondering about.

What are the best beaches for surfing near Los Angeles?

Los Angeles is home to some of the best surfing spots in the entire country:

    • El Porto: This easy break is especially approachable during the winter months, when it’s mostly popular with tourists and beginners.
    • Leo Carillo: This well-known spot is accessible to surfers and long boarders of any experience level.
    • Manhattan Beach: Recommended for experienced surfers only, waves here can reach heights of up to 12 feet.
    • Redondo/Hermosa Beach: This is another spot mostly for experienced surfers, though waves here don’t often exceed 3 feet.
    • Surfrider Beach: Located in Malibu, this easy break is an excellent spot for surfers of any level.
    • Zuma Beach: Intermediate and first-time surfers are welcome to get their feet wet at this popular spot.

Where are the best restaurants by Los Angeles with an oceanfront view?

Los Angeles also has some of the best oceanfront dining options in the country. If you want to grab a bite while keeping an eye on the tide, check out any of these awesome eateries:

    • Back on the Beach Café: Pairing seasonal specialties with unparalleled panoramas, this landmark restaurant in Santa Monica isn’t to be missed.
    • The Lobster Restaurant: With a rich history dating back to the 1920s, this upscale seafood restaurant offers classic lobster dinners and inventive shellfish cocktails.
    • Mastro's Ocean Club: It doesn’t get more “old school” than this high-end Malibu steakhouse that’s right on the water.
