Room had no heat and no hot water! Tried 3 times to call the front desk. No answer. Got out of bed to complain. Desk person was wearing a coat. Told me it was unusually chilly weather for long beach. Packed up and went to my sons house. Hotel refunded me the $16 facilities fee and told me “sorry for your inconvenience”. Pissed away well over $100.

Our room’s heater was OUT OF ORDER and we almost froze from being so cold Then at 4:48 AM they woke us up abruptly saying we must evacuate the room and the ship because there was FIRE in one of the rooms on our floor- so for the above reasons we demanded a FULL REFUND OF our room fees paid Thank you

This was a fun place to stay. There is a great deal of history and information on board. If you are going to stay realize that this is an old ship so accommodations are more utilitarian than plush. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There is an ice skating rink on board and historical as well as paranormal tours.

Yes we do apologize about that. Keep in mind she is a historical vessel. Back when she was built they didn't need that many as we would now. .

Our overnight stay and tours were everything that my 11 year old grandson had hoped for. The tour guides were very kind to him.

It was great fun to spend the night on the Queen Mary, soaked in history and incredible art deco surroundings. The staff were uniformly friendly and welcoming. However, the operations of the hotel (front desk, bell services maintenance and housekeeping) is inefficient and need significant revision to bring it up to industry standards. Do not expect to check in/out, receive your luggage etc at anything other than a snail's pace. The other caveat is cost--various fees, assessments and parking added an additional 32% to the final tab. It is a delightful place to spend visit as long as you are prepared for the additional wait times and costs.

Best rooms are outside rooms.

Pros: Fantastic historical exhibits, very pleasant cafe and restaurant, the tours were very interesting.
Cons: Quality of the bath fixtures, lighting in inside (windowless) rooms.
First night was in an inside room - it was very claustrophobic with limited lighting and no windows. Second night was in an outside room. That was much nicer, although the bath room was in need of updating/replacing worn fixtures.

It looked run down. There were areas that were restricted by ugly dividers with blue plastic down in the ground. We were awakened 2 times in the middle of the night telling us there was a fire on the ship. Turned out to be a faulty sprinkler system. I would never stay there again.

Unique and different

Pros: Unique Venue.
Cons: No internet of phone reception. It is a boat with a steel shell. Segregate from tourist traffic more from staterooms somehow.
Location: Easy access to LA, Long Beach, OC destinations.
Was satisfyingly different venue to experience. Had brought some frequent international business guests so kept it interesting. Easy destination to access, has valet parking. Beds were were very comfortable and newer. Very simple no fancy amenities in the room. Barely an outlet for charging anything. Bathroom small but functionally efficient. The of it as a true boat cabin in the era. Breakfast lounge had good choice buffet and service.
