Love the Royal

The Royal is my favorite place to stay in Vegas because the pool and hot tub are open year round and heated. I do have to say that though, the pool was chilly the last of our four days!!! This has never happened in all of my many stays. Either the heater broke or they turned it way down, this needs to be remedied, please!!! We also love that the hotel is next door to both the Peppermill/Fireside Lounge and the little taco place on the corner. And Ross! We also walk to the Stratosphere for happy hour and walk to the heart of the strip. Staff is friendly and no hotel fee. Lastly, you can bring food and drinks to the pool area, saves a fortune. We’re heading back in two months, really hoping the pool is warm again, so important!!

Nice hotel with nice people

Pros: Only a mile from the Sands convention center. Free parking and easy access.
Cons: Update the aging rooms, add a microwave, free wifi that has some speed to it.
Location: Located between the old Las Vegas and the newer Las Vegas. Close to the Stratosphere and Circus Circus.
I was in town for a week long trade show. This hotel is 1 mile north of the Sands Convention center so it was very convenient. As a guest I get 20% off at Denny's, too. I didn't use any of the hotel amenities. This was basically a place to sleep and work. At the time I stayed they were in transition from Timeshare to Hotel. No free wifi so I can't rate the quality. The rooms were a little old and so was the furniture. There is a small dorm room size refrigerator but no microwave. Hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and coffee maker was on hand for us road warriors. There were no light switches for the main room, just the bathroom and hallway. I had to leave a light on so when I returned in the PM, I don't trip on things getting to the bed or table. The patio door opened to let in some air but it's not a balcony. You can't really step out there. There is a pool and spa. The spa was popular with some of the guests. I did not partake. For a sub-$100 room during a busy trade show month, the value is definitely there. This is hotel is just a few steps above a "motel". The staff is awesome, though. Jenny at the counter is funny and we goofed with each other every day she was there. Nice lady. Actually, the entire staff I engaged with was very nice.

I needed to add a Friday to my stay on short notice and stayed here. I payed quite a premium price for a substandard hotel. Maybe at half the price I paid this would be okay, but the hotel is quite old and needs updating and basic maintenance. Water damage on carpets and drop ceiling tiles in some hallways. Elevator seemed to me like it could fail any moment. Room was old. I did not use the pool, and did not like that you need to go into the back parking lot area and go through a fence from there to get to it, but the pool area looked nice. The hotel is close to the Convention Center and the Strip. Both are just a few minute walk away. I gave it a try but would not stay there again.

Royal Resort Hotel, Las Vegas, NV_3/22-3/25/2017

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: There is lots of room for improvements at that place.
Location: The only that I liked about its location, it was near a Walgreen.
The hotel stay was "Terrible". The room was of old or should I say, for taking a prostitute for a couple hour quickie. The sink bowl and tube stopped up. Mind you, this is after I requested another room. The room had a smokers smell and the carpet was filled with stains. It was not comfortable staying there for those 2 days. In fact, the last night I stay at the casinos accept for 2 hours and that was to refresh before I went to my meeting. All the Staff could do is agree with me and encouraged me to write my complaints. The experience was horrid and I would not recommend my worst enemy to stay one night at that place. In fact, I am requesting a refund of my hotel stay.

Ugly, dirty and smelly hotel.

Was the worst experience ever, we stayed in the car for three days because the hotel was extremely nasty and dirty. We check in, walk into the room and wow! We walk back to the front desk and talk to unprofessional staff to let them know what was going on, and they answered with "We are not authorized to discuss this with you, the limit to say: CALL THE CORPORATION", hahaha, the ghost corporation never answer the phone calls. Ahhhh but when you check the hotel on Travelocity website...pictures are beautiful, super clean, nice and comfortable hotel, Totally different!, its totally wrong! If they post the pictures of hotel how they exactly look and is, no one, nobody in their five senses will be booking. And on top of we didn't get our money back. Never again.

Smells horrible, there is unknown stains on the beds and its not clean at all. Sleeping outside is cleaner than sleeping in that room. Employees were rude and not professional. I also did not get my money back after seeing that disgusting room.

Booked for Pool, but Pool being Renovated

Pros: Refrigerator and microwave in the room. Murphy bed was nice.
Cons: Have the pool available or provide some compensation. Don't charge $10 for wifi (per device).
I booked a short stay with my family at this hotel, as it was fairly inexpensive, but the pool looked decent. I always try to get a place with a decent pool as my daughter loves to swim. However, when I checked in, the pool was down for renovations, so in kind of ruined our stay. We instead got to enjoy the sounds of jackhammers,as they removed the pool surface below our hotel room window. The rooms were decent and fairly clean, but I'm not sure what would make this place a resort.

Cheap hotel and very uncomfortable

Sadly, you get what you pay for. Cheaper hotel cost = an awful room. I have learned my lesson. The only good thing about this hotel is that it was super close to the convention center. A/C didn't work well so the room was too hot due to A/C problem, the bed was very uncomfortable, floors we're dirty, and staff seemed very disinterested in discussing anything with their guests. There were other issues too, but there were ones that bothered me the most. Minor issues (some, but not limited to): wifi was not free and the remote for the television did not work. Hallway carpets we're very sad looking. It gave it a very bad first impression. I will never stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
