Misleading. The booking had free breakfast but at check in a credit voucher of $ 15 per person was given for ala carter breakfast restaurant where nothing is for $15. No mini fridge in the room (these days even ordinary motels have mini fridge in the room), if you want a fridge pay additional $30!! Requested guest service to keep one small bag of food in a fridge anywhere but was refused flatly. Very disappointing overall.

The building is beautiful, but my room was not completely clean. I could tell that in the areas under my nightstand and the bathroom did not smell super fresh

As a native Chicagoan who stayed for 2 nights at this iconic hotel for the first time, the excitement and pleasure of experiencing The Drake Hotel was not only met but greatly exceeded by leaps and bounds by the hotel’s architectural beauty, the wonderful customer service from the bell desk to registration and the restaurants, the fantastic food and drink, and especially the spectacular view from my room of Oak Street, Oak Street Beach, Michigan Avenue, Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive which is without a doubt one of the greatest spectacles of urban brilliance and beauty ever created on planet earth.

The Drake is in a good location for getting to other places in Chicago. I thought it would be easier to get a taxi. It took 45 minutes one morning when I had to get to an appointment. We finally encountered a cab a few blocks from the hotel, just by chance. Good thing I allowed enough time. The doormen tried to summon a cab but were unsuccessful. I have stayed in many hotels over the past 30 years. This was the first time the hotel didn't clean my room daily. I thought a hotel of this caliber would provide cleaning service but it did not.
