"SCAM Alert! FRAUD! Do not visit this place! The staff is trained to get you into a "presentation" for their travel club, Palace Elite, they call it. The presentation is really a high pressure sales pitch filled with lies, like vacation prices you're not likely to find when you try, or "cancel anytime" policies. When you try to cancel, they tell you you can't. I tried to cancel within the 5 days rescission period allowed by Mexican law, and they still would not honor it. They're trying to stick me with a $US16k bill for this useless membership, or they're going to ruin my credit.
Don't waste your time going here for the beach. It is really bad in this area. This resort is not in the Cancun Hotel zone. These folks do have a resort in the hotel zone, so if you do go to any of these Moon Palace properties avoid their presentations like the plague.
If you do go to the presentation, you are now in the scam and are prey. This is how it goes. You get to the office to meet your individual presenter, and they have this fake contest, promising a prize if one of your credit cards has the numbers they have printed. This is designed to let them know that you have a way to pay for getting suckered into the membership. Next phase is a meal with your rep & a tour of the Grand. Finally a stop at the sales desk to finish the pitch, where the world is promised, none of it worth it once you read the fine print. DON'T GO to any of these properties, and if you do, AVOID the "presentation". SCAM!"
