Check in was a disaster. Did not get the correct room asked for 2 double bed room with ocean view. They did bring up a roll away bed to make up for the bed situation at no extra charge. Had to ask 2 days later for my all inclusive wristband and a beach towel card (neither given at check in). Bathroom very tiny and smelled like sewage most of the time. Did report it but nothing was done about it. Food was not very good. Wait staff, bartenders and entertainment staff was awesome. Was disappointed that the alcohol was watered down. The views from the hotel were beautiful as was the island. Would I recommend this hotel to friends? Sorry but I would have to say no.

Water/beach around hotel is best part. Hotel average-to-below. We had water leaking/pouring into room first day, was upgraded to honeymoon suite which was much better. First room extremely small-not enoigh room to put your clothing and toiletries...Upon arrival and check in I was approached immediately about buying a vacation package. I was not given info right away about restaurants, resorts etc. Until we met a worker (Carlos) who helped. One of the days the resort had no hot water for half the day. Food was below average. Would not return.

This is our 3rd stay at Mia and it was amazing as always! From the minute we arrived the front desk check in was quick and the room requested was given and ready upon arrival! Our villa facing the bay side, was beautiful and my family’s room in the tower 7th floor had the most amazing views! Our room was decorated for our anniversary and a delicious desert as well. Minibar was refilled every day with soda, beer, water and snacks! The food was delicious and thank you Daniel at the grill for my fresh fish every night and thank you Roberto and Issac for amazing food and bar service at the beach! Special thanks (and another reason we keep coming back )to Luis at the main bar for the best margaritas and being such an amazing person! The water and beach are absolutely breathtaking and perfect for snorkeling anytime, and there’s plenty of new loungers and day beds available. The entertainment and shows at night were great! We have been traveling to Isla for over 10 years and Mia Reef will be the only hotel we will ever stay at again! Thank you again for an amazing vacation and see you soon!

We were in the Villas and they have steps leading from upper area like the bathroom and closet to the bed area. No railings, no different tile to tell from 3 steps, no grip strips, they were dangerous. My husband fell 3 times and hurt his foot and ended up limping for the rest of the trip. The hotel refused to move us to the tower and not compensate us for the price difference and said there are no other villas without steps. Next we were always having trouble with housekeeping getting towels! The refer was never properly stocked. The floor never seemed properly cleaned, i.e. sandy or you could still see footprints. We couldn't use balcony because it was on the ocean side which meant waves constantly kept the area wet - we couldn't sit out there, the floor was always wet and tiled the same inside so it was slippery so you could slip inside if you came in from outside. Plenty of good food and good entertainment every night. If only the drinks were constant when they were made. Every margarita tasted different.

Ok, nothing great, especially the food. Off season wait staff at the private restaurants was less than stellar. The whole operation needs major updating.

Beautiful property

We enjoyed the Mia. Our room was very basic. Be sure to get a balcony, other wise , it's a basement view. Stay away from the time share salesman.

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff! The beach at the hotel is great. The hotel is close enough to town that you can walk or check out a bicycle from the hotel to go shopping.
