The hotel was spotless and my room was huge. I changed hotels after a few days because there was a spotlight that was going on and off all night from the building next door. The hotel room only had white curtains. I tried telling staff one day but I was having trouble explaining/translating. I eventually used couch cushions and the blanket to hang over the window/balcony door. It says online they have a water dispenser. They do not. Housekeeping will give you 2 bottles per day. There is a grocery store a few minutes away walking.

The beds were old and springs can be felt and wooden frames were creaky, you can hear the people above and it was hard to sleep. The hot water tank didn’t work twice and we did not receive the complimentary sparkling wine as my vip offer from the reservation.

We were upgraded to an Ocean View room! Room was clean, simply decorated, and the hotel is at a great location for exploring along the north end of the island. The pool was also gorgeous!

Our room was good but lacked furniture. Pool was good but not heated. None of the girls at the front desk spoke a word of English, so check in was a bit of a challenge or if you had a question about anything. Restaurant was average. Over all it’s a nice place to stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located and within wallking distance of many restaurants. The room was nice. However it was impossible to sleep past 7:00 am because of all the noise. The shower had no hot water.

My wife and I just finished a 7-night stay at the Mint Hotel a week ago December 2025. There was good and bad during our stay. Starting with the good: clean rooms, friendly staff, close to Centro area, decent wifi, great A/C, and amazing oceanfront views. The rooms have a somewhat modern decor. The room was spacious, so spacious that it could have accommodated a sofa/sitting area adjacent to bed, but there was none and we had to sit on bed (or out on balcony) while in room. Vanessa and Airron at the front desk took great care of us during our stay. Not so good: For entire stay, the water temp fluctuated between ice cold and scalding hot. There was rarely a comfortable warm temp, making for quick uncomfortable showers. Also, during the last couple of days, there was a strong smell of sewage coming from the drains in the sink and shower. No bueno. Oddly enough, Mint didn't offer real beach towels. They offered slightly larger hand towels to use at pool/beach. Also required us to sign reciept for $1800 peso (about $100 USD) in case we didn't return the towels (but we returned towels 😀). Takeaway: Bring your own beach towels or buy at souvenir shop in town. Overall, we had a great vacation in Isla Mujeres, but 50/50 on staying at Mint again.

Fantastic hotel right on the sea front and in the heart of IM! If you’re thinking of booking, get an ocean-front room and pay for breakfast as you won’t be disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and when we return to IM won’t hesitate to stay here again.

The rooms Ocean Viw rooms were spacious, clean and we were supplied every day with fresh towels and water bottles. The staff was wonderful. The pictures were exactly representative of what the Mint looked like. We booked through Expedia and our stay included breakfast (a small charge). If we were to stay in a hotel, this place would one of top picks!

Room was nice, stayed in sea view suite. Bathroom was nice, water was lukewarm, apparently boiler issue was fixed next day. On another day we had no water out of tap, shower or toilet. Was fixed that day. Chairs in room were changed for no apparent reason. Pool is nice but narrow maybe 4ft deep. Other pool more like a jacuzzi with no jets not heated but refreshing. Pool towels super thin and small no use. Beach towels not provided while North shore beach is only a 6 min walk! Did not eat at the property ca not comment on food. Stay was ok considering the price we paid. However I brought my noise cancelling headphones and placed them in their case under the shelf on the makeup mirror. Chair was in front of it. Not clearly visibly, and they disappeared. Checked luggage room several times no luck! Went downstairs and try to report this incident, was told no such form no such page on website. Wrote up my own incident report and had them sign it. Gave them a copy! Was told to check WhatsApp. Signed in and was asked questions but did not receive any answers to mine. The hotel is nice, the view beautiful, the water issues not ideal the beach and pool towels lacking! People in and out of your room without a heads up not acceptable! The service for potential problems that need attention non existent!! Sadly will not return, items should not disappear from room and a shoulder shrug from the front desk, as a solution is unacceptable!!

We arrived around 10:00 pm and the staff were very friendly. Our room was great. The bed was very comfortable. We had a mini fridge which was a wonderful as we could keep beverages cold on those hot days. The balcony was a great size and we had a side view of the ocean. Breakfast was included in our package. You had the option of juice and coffee and for the meal, you have either a fruit plate or delicious buns, you could order eggs (scrambled, over easy, etc); pancakes, or quesadilla. Would recommend this place.
