The Royal Haciendas would have gotten a 8 but……During the check out process, Rosa at the front desk did not handle the situation appropriately and matched my attitude and anger by curtly telling me that her rudeness is in response to my frustration and anger. She did not show any empathy or display any training on how to diffuse a situation since she was eagerly matched my stare like we were in a duel fight. The frustration was due to additional charges for royal resorts foundation donation that was added to the final bill along with a no show resort "tour" timeshare fee of 500 MX pesos not dollars This resort tour for 90 minutes would have rewarded my spouse and I a "free" massge, originally priced at 150 per person. Concierge kept on bumping in to my spouse who finally succumb and unfortunately signed paperwork to agreeing to a "resort tour." Unbeknownst to us this paperwork included language that a fee is assesed for no shows. Now our concierge should have verbally advised this to my spouse. When we were showed the proof by the general manager, I was highly advised to have my spouse read any paperwork thoroughly before signing. The paperwork was in Spanish; which is neither our our native language. We had a great stay and our room was cleaned daily by Gladys Ruiz who went above and beyond each day to make us comfortable in our 1 bedroom ocean front with ocean access room. The property is just beautiful and clean. The rooms are very nice and the service and staff are excellent. The ONLY downside is the beach, however, it is still beautiful and they are working on restoring the beach area. Highly recommend this property. We have been coming to the Royal Haciendas for 18 years and are owners of a beachfront full suite.
