Mike and Laura are the best hosts I have ever rented from. They were very responsive with information as I had questions before the trip.The view at the cabin is exceptional. The highlight was the hot tub with the incredible view. The hot tub is very well maintained, seemed new, and was very clean.The cabin was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable. In fact, the pillows were so great, we ordered some like them.The cabin was very reasonably priced compared to similar cabins. Very well worth it!

The house easily accommodated our family of 10 over Thanksgiving. The kitchen, bedrooms, and game room are spacious and inviting. Our grandkids loved the bunk beds. The adults loved the view, the outdoor fire pit, and the hot tub. The hosts were very prompt with their response to questions and even delivered a new crockpot on Thanksgiving Day!

Great getaway home away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. No complaints whatsoever and room for us (a family of 5) to spread out. The views were beautiful and a great open floor plan in the main area. We even got to see bears on our 4th day. A very cool experience!

Fantastic stay! Everything was set up in a low maintenance, easy to use, guest friendly way. Everyone in our group (grandparents to teenagers) enjoyed the stay. All of the amenities we are used to at home in a more remote setting in the Smokies...like having your cake & eating it too! The hosts couldn't have been more helpful during our stay and we loved their restaurant suggestion so much we went there twice! The included photo is from the porch...amazing view! We saw a black bear, bobcat and kittens in a 3 day stay. If you are looking for a little more seclusion 30 or so min away from downtown Pigeon Forge while vacationing with internet, TVs, game room, hot tub, etc...look no further. This place had everything. We will definitely be coming back at some point in the near future.

We LOVED this cabin. We’ve stayed in several around the area but we will be back to this one! The views are amazing and a mama bear and cubs come to visit. The hot tub is in the perfect spot and , we enjoyed the game room. Very spacious!

Our main reason for booking this home was to enjoy the peaceful views, observe wildlife, and reconnect with friends—and it did not disappoint. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. Check-in and check-out were seamless.We traveled with young children (ages 3, 5, and 8), and would definitely recommend close supervision while outside, as bears are present in the area and the deck is perched steeply on the mountainside.The cabin offers stunning views and even more stunning visitors—curious bears who wandered right onto the deck! It was a truly memorable experience.

Very clean and cozy

We had the most amazing stay at this cabin! From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and right at home. The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the cozy touches that made it feel special. With view that honestly took our breath away. There was plenty of room for everyone. The host were great and were always in contact with us to make sure we always had anything we needed. Would gladly stay in this cabin again.

The cabin was spacious and clean! We enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains every night from the huge wrap around porch. The highlight of our stay was watching a little bear cub come twice a day and eat from the blackberry bushes below the porch!

WOW, this place was AMAZING! The photos do not do it justice. The view was incredible. We sat on the porch overlooking the mountains every day even in the rain. Check in was a breeze, door code was programmed to just us- easy to remember that way. Group of 7 (2 families) had everything we needed. Plenty of bath towels, and the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and tools needed. Before our trip I asked if there was an electric skillet or waffle maker to make breakfast for the kids. There wasn't at the time but the owners made sure they had both at the house before our vacation. The communication with the hosts was one of the best I've ever had while renting with VRBO. They were super quick to respond to any questions, concerns or issues. We had bears break into the bear proof trashcan and within a day the problem was fixed. Speaking of bears, we had 31 sightings in a week! We greatly enjoyed watching them, but be warned some of them were curious and would attempt to come up on the porch or check out the grill and cars. Just follow the rules, don't feed them and keep your distance. The house sat on top of a mountain (great views) and was away from noise and traffic. We were glad to have a vehicle that could handle the curvy and steep roads, which is expected being up in the mountains. If we find ourselves back in the GSM we would definitely consider this home again. We have already started sharing the details to our friends who are interested. Thank you.

Optimal location with excellent amenities and VIEWS!

Wears the Bears was such an excellent place to stay for our family of four. We could easily have fit another 8-10 people in the cabin because of the plentiful bedroom setup. We're so glad we stayed in this location in Wears Valley, which is quieter and more authentic than the zoo over near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Plus there is a lesser-used and ultra-convenient entrance into the National Park only about 10-minutes from the house! The drive up to the house is hilly but 100% paved and it's worth it for the views you earn from the wraparound decks. The WiFi was speedy (I got some work done and we watched some Roku after spending days hiking in the park). And we encountered a family of black bears on TWO separate evenings! A mama and her three cubs strolled right past the cabin. Our family made memories at this cabin and it changed our perception of the Smokies. Thank you host Mike!

Absolutely amazing!

Absolutely amazing. With stunning mountain views from the two-tiered wrap-around patios to the completely updated and cozy rooms, this place has it all. The photos do not do this cabin justice. The location is perfect - secluded enough to enjoy quiet privacy, but also able to get to parks, restaurants and attractions with a quick drive. The cabin was well-stocked with essentials and perfectly clean upon our arrival. The tvs in every bedroom and updated game room with bunkbeds were a real plus. Our kids loved playing pool and foosball while watching movies. My wife and I relished quiet mornings, drinking coffee on the patios. And the hosts could not have been friendlier. Mike and Laura made sure we had everything we needed and communicated with us throughout the entire process. Check in and out were an absolute breeze. I only wish we didn’t have to leave! Truly a great spot - we will definitely be back!
