The room was very spacious and clean. Having a kitchen is a game changer for our family budget. Location was good, close to transit and Essex Market. The entrance was difficult to find with limited signage and construction.

Sanctuary NYC Retreats was a welcome respite in the middle of busy Downtown for myself and my son visiting NYC during the holidays, and felt like an awesome home away from home. The Suite is spacious with its own outdoor patio (amazing) twin cot, kitchen, complete with tea, coffee, kettle and everything we needed for a very comfortable two night stay. The cozy studio feels like a nest, close to bodegas, vintage stores, trendy restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and steps from subway and trains; the neighborhood is friendly yet lively, safe, secure, and tucked away on a quiet street. Next visit, we'll take the yoga class and volunteer at its community dinner event. Not a hotel, but a peaceful private place with heart, soul and purpose. 10 out of 10 experience.

The area did not feel safe AT ALL! The windows and doors were so thin we could hear every single thing happening out on the street, which was allot all night long! We were supposed to have a fully stocked kitchen. We had 6 people in our party and there were 4 forks, 4 knives, 4 spoons, 4 bowls, and so on. There was no frying pan so i could not make my family breakfast. There were only 2 big pots and 1 wok. The large pots had metal handles that got hot and there were no pot holders, we had to use wash cloths while cooking which was not safe at all with a gas stove. There was one kitchen towel, no measuring cups or spoons for cooking. The pull out bed was more comfy then the actual bed. Definitely NOT worth what we paid to stay there.

I want to commend The Sanctuary NYC for their hospitality. Five stars all around. The apt we stayed in was very spacious for 6 people, included enough bedding and living space for all. Kitchen was clean and well equipped with all necessities. Bathroom clean and staff was always available to refresh your towels and linens if asked. Location wise it was all we can ask for as 1st timers in NYC. Neighborhood is friendly, food and bars every corner, shopping and transportation blocks away. We are very pleased and happy with our stay, looking forward to be back. Thank you Sanctuary NYC!

A unique stay place in NYC!

Peace and comfort on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Great mix of restaurants, galleries, and clubs nearby. It's a rare spacious place to live like a New Yorker for a couple of days.

The staff was helpful and very friendly. I loved that dominos pizza was located next to the building because it was easy to go and grab a bite to eat after a long night out. If you stay here you would enjoy your stay.
