One annoying experience was that the security person forbade me from using my camera to take photos of my family in the hotel lobby and restaurant alleging that the use of a camera was not allowed by hotel policy and I could only use my phone to take pictures

Unhappy Stay

We booked the Plaza for a long weekend stay. Overall we were very disappointed with this hotel for the following reasons: The Hotel wasn’t clean, Dirty Bowls being left outside rooms for up to 10 hours. Trodden in good on Carpets leading to rooms , not vacuumed for hours. A used Glass from the Bar left by the Lifts by the concierge desk all day ! Rooms not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Plus items missing from room. Rude staff When disabled wife was waiting for people to move out of the way. Ridiculous queues for Breakfast Making you Book the Swimming pool , and then staff letting others in who haven’t booked and staff policing times which then impacts on the croweded pool. Changing rooms were dirty , not cleaned frequently enough. Used towels and hotel slippers / Gowns left everywhere. Allowing people to smoke outside designated smoking areas ( literally out front of the hotel) which isn’t great for families leaving the hotel. Light control didn’t work in room 1337 Standard light didn’t work. No water in rooms Overall felt like an inconvenience to the staff and not a guest. Poor overall

Good and convenient

The place and service is generally good. However, when we opted for every other day house keeping, we would have expected pantries topped up and bin emptied, but they were not. The hotel toilettries (like body wash) provided were not enough to begin with and they were not topped up during our stay. Our kids stayed on the sofa bed and they were saying they are finding sweets wrappers. Minor issues but really a generally good hotel. Also, I have VIP Access, but when I asked during check in, the receptionist said they don’t offer anything as I’m not qualified for anything. I didn’t push really as we just wanted our room to relax.
