Our room was modern and clean, spacious with a comfortable bed, extra pillows, it was on the 1st floor but was quiet with no noise from outside. Very helpful staff at breakfast and good value for £10.

Our stay was good, arrived at the hotel early and could check in as our room was ready. I had emailed in advance requesting this so o was delighted the hotel made it possible. I had read that there was a 24hr shop on-site but this wasn’t the case. Very limited drinks available and no food after 12am which would normally not be an issue but we had been at a concert and it had taken 3 hours to get back so a snack and drink would have been amazing. My only negative is the noise from the toilet when flushed. They were like what you would find on an aircraft which was ok but the bang that came after was insane. I was frightened to use in the night incase I woke the whole floor !

We arrived early so decided to visit Shoreditch before check in. We realized the area was extremely unsafe and unclean. The type of area we would have had to be in our rooms before sundown. I would compare it to the bronx of London… To make things worst , we needed to plan our return home early as we had a family emergency unfolding back home. We immediately returned to hotel to explain the situation. The young lady at desk was very understanding and said she had no issues cancelling but it needed to be done via Expedia as we originally booked through them. I contacted Expedia and they agreed to cancel free of charge as long as they could confirm with the property they agreed as well to wave the fees. I return to the clerk and she tells me she will get her manager to sign off. Her managers looks me dead in the eye and tells me they do not agree, I let expedia know about the situation as it is unfolding and they tell me they will contact the property to try and sort this out and maybe get a partial refund at least. The manager of the hotel never budged and could not care less.. I proceed to ask the manager, why he does not agree when even expedia is willing to wave the fees and staff as well…? End of story I lost my money… So for anyone booking this hotel in this part of London, Shoreditch is a great place to shop and eat for a day trip but not to stay in overnight!! And the hotel reviews must be fraudulent..See for yourself when visiting Shoreditch…

Extra charges for no extra service!

Disappointed by the "discretionary surcharge" added to the stay afterwards. Especially considering we spoke to 0 staff for the whole stay and used the digital check-in and check-out services. What discretionary service are we exactly paying for!? Disgraceful. Room was clean and maintained but the toilet was horrible. Too high up and bizarre.
