GREAT HOTEL! GREAT STAY!

Pros: Clean New Friendly Staff Great ambiance Spacious Room Comfortable beds
Location: Centrally located with all kinds of great places to eat and drink close by as well as shop. Close to downtown!
Our family spent a couple of nights and WE LOVED IT!! This hotel is only a few years old and everything is still new and nice! The room was spacious and quiet. The beds were VERY comfortable. The hotel is located in a GREAT location and surrounded by great places to eat, get coffee, etc. There was a Starbucks, Smashburger, Mediterranean place, all across the street. It also centrally located to Austin with easy access to the freeway. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and offered lots of options, including healthy ones (egg whites, oatmeal, chicken sausage, etc). The lobby has a really cool feel to it, there is a fire pit outside as well as a calming fountain. Great atmosphere to sit around and enjoy a few beverages. We wished we would have been able to stay a week! We will definitely be back!!

Nice, newer hotel, but 2 cautions to keep in mind

Pros: Newer. Clean.
Cons: Noise proofing. Give a dang when someone encounters a bad night's stay. Honor your reservations.
Location: This hotel has virtually no signage and even using Google Maps is a pain in the butt to find.
When we visit UT Austin, my wife likes Embassy Suites because of the spacious rooms and the nice morning hot breakfast. I think the hotel is a bit tired and usually crowded, so I welcomed trying something new on our parent's weekend visit. Cutting to the final chapter, this place is clean, newer, and looks very nice, but is hard to find (has virtually no external signage), and while the walls are solid, the ceilings are amazingly low and not insulated, so you won't hear the neighbors beside you but you will hear every footstep and be able to parse the conversation of those folks above you. Which I did from 1130pm to 2am. Yes, I called the front desk and they said they'd handle it and I never heard back from them, and I read a good bit of the novel I'd brought along while I waited for the folks upstairs to go to sleep. In the morning, I discussed this with Tom, an officious person with a brit accent who explained that my expectations were unreasonable. Thanks. Oh, and before all this transpired, the 2 bedroom unit we'd reserved became unavailable because, we were told, the people in it decided not to leave. The hotel did split us into 2 separate 1-bedroom units, and comped the second one, so call that a push. Noteworthy is that they didn't call us to let us know this; had we not called enroute it would have been a "surprise." All in all, we want hotels where I know I'll get a good, quiet, night's sleep. This one doesn't make the grade.
