I booked this stay 3 months in advance to guarantee a room for an anniversary date. I booked a king room. When we arrived at 5. They had no rooms available. Check in is at 4. How can all the rooms be full. Anyways I was told they only had double beds. Not sure about anyone else but staying in a room with 2 beds for your anniversary is not very pleasing. Why we were not upgraded room? Well the reason was because we used a third party booking. “Hotels.com”. We would have used their direct booking we would have been upgraded to a king size bed in another part of the hotel or a discount on the room. I would think they would treat all their customers the same? Apparently not!

Beautiful historic hotel. So happy that we were able to stay at The Driskill! The staff was friendly & helpful. The convenient location allowed us to walk to restaurants and events. I hope to return again! I do feel that it was a bit expensive, but that seems to be the case in downtown Austin.

It is a beautiful and historic property in the heart of Austin downtown. Some minor quirks with the hotel being built over a hundred years ago, but I would stay again. Super friendly staff, great food and cocktails, and an amazing breakfast from the bakery.

This hotel is beautiful! The staff were very courteous and polite, but not particularly helpful. We had a variety of 'normal' questions regarding local dining, parking, and activity options, but the hotel staff was not very knowledgeable. For a more high-end hotel, we expected more.

This is a very historic hotel. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Local to all the restaurants and bars. Really enjoyed our stay here.
