Whether you're cozied up by the indoor or outdoor fireplace or cruising the endless off-road trails, this home is a wonderful escape from the summer heat in Phoenix (typically 30-40º cooler) or the perfect spot for out-of-state visitors to fall in love with Northern Arizona. Winter access requires 4 wheel it's easy to get to with any vehicle during the summer!

This property is secluded in the beautiful Coconino National Forest and is a short drive from Camp Verde, Mormon Lake and Munds Park which are the closest towns. For more variety, views, and recreational options, we are 45 minutes from both Flagstaff and the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. Our cabin is an awesome home base location for day trips to other fun Northern Arizona attractions such as Jerome, Cottonwood, Prescott, and even the Grand Canyon!

If you're looking for recreational activities nearby, we suggest the Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde, Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course, or Slide Rock State Park in Sedona. Mormon Lake, Lake Mary, Oak Creek, and Beaver Creek are also a short drive from our property for water/boating fun! Mormon Lake and Sedona also offer seasonal horseback riding and off-road rentals. In the winter, Arizona Snow Bowl is a fantastic place to ski and is located just north of Flagstaff.

Stoneman Lake offers beautiful walking and hiking trails and there are lots of options nearby for mountain biking, hiking, and canyoneering. Sedona offers amazing Jeep, helicopter, and hot air balloon tours that we highly recommend if you've never been to the area!

For the wine enthusiasts, there are some wonderful wineries in Northern Arizona that do tours and tastings in the summer. A few of our favorites are Alcantara Vineyards and Winery in Camp Verde, Arizona Stronghold Vineyards Tasting Room in Cottonwood, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery in Cornville, and Page Springs Cellars also in Cornville. You can also do the Grape Train Escape Tour on the Verde Canyon Railroad which is really a treat!

In case of emergency, there is an emergency medical facility in Camp Verde for minor issues and also Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff which is a major regional hospital and Level 1 trauma center.

We'd absolutely love for you to come experience our magical retreat and hope we can host you soon!

Off Grid Getaway
Lets start with the bad to get to the good. We drove in a large truck and it is very tight to get the truck into the driveway with a large pickup. Its more setup for a jeep or something smaller, we made it work but it is super tight. The yard was unkept. It said there was horseshoe pits, hammocks, treehouses for the kids etc for outside activites and those things are there it just hasnt been maintained. It was not awful just unkept and not super useful. The kids didnt love the treehouse, the horseshoe pit was covered in weeds. The hammock was there however, we did not use it. When we arrived the house smelled musty. It was not overwhelming but musty nontheless. We were instructed to read the binder which was very helpful. I will return to that momentarily. There are 3 levels to the house. The top floor and master suite is to die for. The bed is AMAZING. The bathroom and tub are awesome, the deck and view are fabulous. There is even a window above the bed to look at the stars Main level. Kitchen, living area, bathroom. One bathroom and shower. The only bathroom and shower aside from the master suite upstairs in the house. Every time anyone showered in there it set off the smoke detectors in the house. That was fun with a wedding party trying to get ready. Down stairs and no bathrooms. 2 bedrooms and no other exits or bathrooms. IMO if a fire happens upstairs you are in trouble down there. If you have to use the bathroom at night with knee trouble, you are screwed. I was told the bed were ok, nothing to brag over but not terrible either. Guest house has a spiral staircase to the bed and I was told it has a small bed up there and it would be cramped with 2 people but doable, again not awful but not awesome. Cute little house. One bathroom. and kitchenette with its own deck and privacy. Back to the main house. The kitchen is spacious and provided plenty of room for everyone to sit and enjoy each others company. The deck was fabulous and beautiful at night. Here are the things I wish I had known prior to arrival. We had booked this for a wedding party. We were meeting here from other states. The home has ZERO cell service, while a relaxing getaway with no cell service is awesome, trying to check on people from other states, elderly family members etc and no cell service is tough. There is wifi but it is very slow and unreliable. You are supposed to pack out your garbage-again with a wedding party where was I supposed to take it?

Awesome Cabin to be “off the grid”
This was a overall great cabin! There was an issue when we didn’t have water, which was due to water needing to be pumped in. As soon as I contacted Josh, he explained the situation and had brought us cases and jugs of water within the hour so we didn’t have to go without or make any runs to the store! Water was later restored that evening. All the kids in my group had an absolute blast in the tree house! The guest cabin was so cozy and perfect for the kiddos that needed a break from us adults and had their own little hang out spot. It was overall a great time!

Awesome Property
My Family and I stayed here over the New Year's holiday, it was the first time in over 15 years we were all able to get together. This property was the perfect backdrop for our mini family reunion. Spacious Home allowed us all to be together without out feeling over crowded (14 of us). It snowed while we were there and the peaceful, quiet area made for a very enjoyable trip. We recommend this place to all families looking for a getaway from the hussle and bussle of the city.

Munds Park
If you seek quiet and privacy do Munds. Best Welcome Basket ever complete with treats and a lovely hand-written note! Fun kitchen with a great stove, lots of pots, pans, and baking supplies. Comfy beds. Beautiful deck with a huge outside table and fireplace. Weather was great and walks along Ponderosa and "the crater" were always fun. Communication with owner quick and efficient. This off-grid unit took us a couple days to figure out. Be certain to read the details of your contract. No potable water, you must bring your own. Duraflame logs are not the same as firewood but they do provide needed warmth. Bring extras for cold nights. You must pack out all your garbage, including some used toilet paper.

Wonderful Stay
Great place off the beaten path! It was perfect for kids and dogs with plenty of space for a bigger family. Beautiful views of the Stoneman Lake area and a nice more “off grid” experience.

Great house with a relaxing location and setup
My family and I booked a last minute weekend trip at this Cabin by Stoneman lake and we all had a great time. There were a couple of hiccups because of the short notice and being the first rental when the weather turned cold but the hosts were very helpful with getting us setup. Once we settled in we had a great time. The kids enjoyed seeing deer in the mornings just outside the balcony and seeing the stars at night. The community was very quiet and relaxing.

De stress and relax
What a wonderful cabin! While the family went 4 wheeling I got to sit and read and relax on the huge wrap around porch and listen to nothing but the hummingbirds and watch the deer! Would definitely rent again!

Off the grid and amazing
The cabin is out in the middle of the woods with only wifi. No service. It was amazing to have a beautiful view along with a break from the rest of the world not receiving phone calls if you didn't want them haha. You can always make calls via wifi. We brought our dogs along with in laws who have 2 infants. With all open property the dogs had more then enough space to do there own thing while the infants and the rest of the group can enjoy the house from the downstairs which is super cold and cozy to the living room that has the TV kitchen and dining in 1 which we think was nice because everyone was able to still interact with one another while doing there own things. All in it was a place we would definitely go to again.
