The hotel is in a very convenient and pretty spot on the water. The staff was very friendly and was very helpful with available parking options as well as recommendations for dining. The managers reception/happy hour was an enjoyable start to the evening. There was some construction being done near one of the restaurants and porta potties were being utilized. That wasn't very pleasant. At the time of my stay there was a lot of activity on the waterfront...it was VERY noisy (music/announcements).

Very Noise!
Wanted to get a weekend away with my wife. I decided on The River Street Inn. The staff and especially the valet were super nice. The conditions were good and clean. Unfortunately the noise level from the street was unbearable. My wife and I were luck if we got an hour of sleep on night long. We chose the street side as many reviews said the same thing about the river side. Unfortunately neither side is pleasant. Will not return as there are many other options to consider with less noise issues.

I stayed in room 326 which is right under the main lobby. It was loud at times. My party and I had to ask for toilet paper several times. Chris with the valet service was super friendly and helpful.

I loved the historical nature of the property and area. The hotel IS haunted and that's one of the main reasons I stayed there as I'm a paranormal investigator. That hotel did NOT disappoint in this regard!

So disappointed with the River Street Inn ! They gave our room away and didn’t have a room available for two nights, so we stayed in two different rooms. Neither of them fit the specs we reserved (not in a good way). The first one was dusty beyond belief—they seemed to be in the process of renovating it. The second room was better. However, they charged us $90 for valet which we didn’t even use, and when I requested a refund they charged us again. Savannah is such a nice place to visit I recommend looking elsewhere for a nice place to stay.

I checked into the property and gave the front desk a credit card for incidentals. The immediately charged my card $1,500 for the whole stay without even telling me the total or that they were running my card. We discovered it because my amex card gives me alerts for large purchases. I had PREPAID my room through Expedia. I have used Expedia for at least 20 years all over the world and NEVER had this happen. When I told the front desk I prepaid they said "this happens a lot" then told me to talk to the manager tomorrow. I talked to a different front desk girl and the manager was "busy" and never bothered to come talk to me. They said they fixed it and the hold would eventually fall off my card. I am in a position where I can handle a large hold but what if I did not have the spending power on my card to accomidate? That is not a small amount and could have limited or ruined someones spending power on their vacation. When I asked if it was cleared up at check out the front desk person said I could alway prove I paid with my credit card. I have never had such horrible customer service at a hotel before. I don't feel they meet up to Expedia standards. They also had loud construction going on right outside our room. We had to walk through plastic and other patrons called to complain about morning loud noise. I have in the past received emails warning me about construction and were very considerate from hotels I booked with you. I now find myself less confident booking with you.
