We were meant to stay for 4 days but sadly had to cut our stay short after the first night due to a family bereavement. On first impressions the hotel and its staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room a touch small but very clean and quite. Excellent location if you want to be in the heart of London. It felt we were staying in the Buckingham Palace courtyard lol. Shame we didn’t get to experience the hotel properly but hopefully we will back again another time.

Staff is amazing. They take good care of their patrons. Was surprised to find out there is a 100$ held on your credit card for each night stay. Granted it’s returned to you at the end of your stay; just was not expecting this when we checked in as this was not made clear when we booked and paid for our stay prior to our arrival. Breakfast prices also not clear when you are viewing the menu. We ordered two omlets and coffee and the bill was over $100. We did not eat at any of the restaurants on site because of this. We found places to eat that were more affordable on the street.

Great check-in and an upgrade which was much appreciated. Room service was slow to order and arrived incomplete . Beware the hotel adds the expected tray charge but adds an extra service charge on top. They also add a 12.5% service charge to the total bill which I do not appreciate- this is unusual for the UK and I expect service to be included in the advertised price. You can have this removed if you ask but it means a lower rating than I’d give equivalent hotels.

Amazing location! Next to Buckingham Palace and the Mall. Excellent service, clean, comfortable rooms. Close to restaurants, and Victoria Staion, The receptionists and the doormen were extremely helpful in whistling and flagging own cabs! A great experience.

Upon Entering our hotel room 423 at the Ruben’s we noticed the air was stagnant and dusty like no one had been in the room for sometime.As someone who has asthma I felt as I could not breathe.First impressions are lasting impressions and this is one I will not forget.We then attempted to open some windows which have side sliding windows in front of the old wooden windows with a sheer curtain in between.Two would not open and the third window we were able to open but it only would go up a few inches and you cannot move it any further.Next phoned the front desk to see about another room and they were quick to state there was no other room available.You can tell this room requires a deep cleaning from the curtains to the fabric covered walls and carpet as it was dusty and musty smelling.This is a Red Carnation hotel with high standards is it not? Do management not oversee and inspect their own rooms?I brought it up to a manager and her response was it was good to be told as they can always improve without even coming up to see the room for herself.Really was looking forward to this hotel stay but I honestly can say I was disappointed with the experience as it was a dusty , musty old room and customer service was lacking.
