Our first night we arrived very late 1am, delayed flights, when we arrived at our room the bed sheets had not been changed from the previous occupant, only made up. We pulled the covers back to find stains, a dirty sock, and hair particles throughout. The bathrooms had mold all around the tile in the tub, and the faucet in the shower was clogged and barely sprayed. Staff the next morning was fairly attentive to our needs but never offered any type of explanation or off set. Breakfast was excellent, great food and very attentive staff. Our third night our room key card failed, it took staff 3 attempts and 30 mins to gain access to our room. We understand it is an older hotel, however the name “retreat” indicates a better quality of stay!

This property is 16 miles from amenities. Not much to do especially in the fall when it gets dark early. The cable in our room was out, according to the front desk, no one had cable in their rooms and they were waiting for a tech. The door to our room had a huge gap underneath which meant you can hear everybody and anybody in the hallways. The walls are so thin, I heard a couple arguing for almost an hour. Some of the room has been updated, we had a King. Definitely overpriced for what was offered. The restaurant/bar closes at nine on a Friday. No clock in the room, and coffee for one person. Most likely would not stay here again.

We found the room to be outdated. No screen on the window so we had flying insects coming in. The fitted sheet didn't fit the mattress. Cracks in the sink and mold around the edge of the tub. Shower head was installed too low making it uncomfortable for anyone over 5'8. The flooring to the room was cracked and uneven. The property is in a gorgeous area. It would have been nicer if the building had been maintained better.
