I recently stayed at the Rio while attending the WPPI conference and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. After a long day of travel, I walked into a room that was clearly not properly cleaned—there were stains on the floors, worn and torn furniture, dirty towels left in the bathroom, and trash still in the trash can. I notified the front desk and housekeeping, but I was not offered any accommodations for the inconvenience and had to wait for the room to be cleaned. After such a long travel day, this was very frustrating. I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and customer service.

I was very disappointed with the room. It looked nothing like the pictures—much smaller, with worn-out furniture and dirty carpeting. The bedding didn’t feel fresh, and the bathroom needed a deep cleaning. On top of that, the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which was impossible to ignore.

The room was mediocre at best, very spacious, but severely outdated. I would be surprised if someone told me it had any renovation in the last 30+ years it's been around. The bed was fairly comfortable, and the view through an entire wall of windows was pretty impressive though.

I was afraid I was going to a nasty hotel, I would sleep on the floor if it is the only clean thing. The sheets were brand new, super big room and bathroom, the casino and lobby is AMAZING. Don’t trust the bad reviews, it renewed and it is amazing. The resort fee was included in the Expedia rate
