Never again staying here.

To start, there's be back later restaurants, no pool, no bell desk. The rooms are tiny, bathroom super small. The AC wasn't cold, was cool but could've been colder. The AC vent was filthy. No one told us until we paid and checked in that the rooms with 2 double bed's overlooks Fremont St, which Hemet have bands until 1 and 2 am. The room was very loud, we were unable to sleep, the windows rattled to the music. Horrible experience Never again. Not worth my money

You get a less than you paid for.

Pros: Location. It was 2 blocks from the Scars and Stripes Festival.
Cons: bedding+ pillows, carpets, shower drains, bathroom wall tiles could use some paint and sealant
Location: I loved that it was so close to the Scars and Stripes Festival. It took me only a few minutes to get back to the room and pass out.
I can handle a small room but this was a bit crazy. I stayed in the second-floor room 231 and it was bad. Once we got to the hotel we checked in at the hotel and the staff asked if we wanted a quiet room or a room that looked over the stage. We asked for a quite room. When we got in I looked out the window (that I had to tiptoe to see out) and it was overlooking the stage on Freemont Street. A Little thing to know if you stay here the bands do not stop till 2 am. Another thing that was annoying was when we entered the room there was a small patch of carpet that stayed wet our full 2 nights. Before we went to sleep we decided to clean ourselves up in the bathroom and it was at first glance not bad but once I got into the shower I learned that the shower drain was very slow to the point that the tub stayed about 1/3 full for most of a quick shower. Just to also point out these pillows are horrible. They have the kind that just feels overstuffed and does not have much give to them. They feel like that have stuffing for a pillow that is the next size up crammed into them. I ended up waking up with a pain in my neck each morning. The bedding that was on our bed had a tear in it upon arrival that we hoped the cleaning staff would trade out in the morning but they did not and just remade the bed.

Pros: The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
Cons: The bathrooms.
Location: The location is great!
The room was and clean and the bed was comfortable. I had requested 2 queen beds and they do not have rooms with 2 queen beds just 2 double beds. The room was so small we could hardly get around. And it did not look anything like the on line photos. The water in the shower went from hot to cold with out adjusting faucet. And the TV did not work.

Quiet Side?

Pros: See above.
Cons: Showers, noise.
Location: Great night scene! I truly did love being downtown and even loved the live music VERY nearby. Check out Pizza Rock and get their coccoli!
I was able to get into my hotel room early, which was very much appreciated, as I was exhausted from my early morning flight. I asked for a room away from Fremont Street, to get a little bit of quiet. They said they had a quiet room on the other side that they could offer me. It was anything but quiet! I had to buy earplugs to even come close to falling asleep. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower couldn't decide if it was going to be scalding hot or frigid.

PRICE WAS RIGHT FOR SHORT STAY

Pros: SHRIMP COCKTAIL, YUMMMM
Cons: NEEDED COFFEE POT
Location: AWESOME & CLOSE WALKING DISTANCE TO ALL FREMONT CASINOS & LOVED ALL THE NEWNESS GOING PAST "HEART ATTACK CAFE" NOT SO SCAREY.
ONLY BAD THING WAS THE BAND OUTDOOR OF HOTEL. IT HAD LOUD BANGING DRUMS UNTIL 3AM. if I GO THERE AGAIN I WILL REQUEST A ROOM WAY FAR AWAY. 2ND NIGHT BAND WAS OK.

Maids & Front desk

I was there for three nights, not once did I get maid service. I asked twice over the phone with somebody at the front desk they guaranteed it to happen. I also asked one time in person the next day. I saw her right down my room number and said she would take care of it. It never happened... I paid for a room, I never received any kind of service. I wouldn't recommend this place.

run down place, not worth the money.

Pros: The location is ok, the restaurant is good.
Cons: Up grade the rooms, they are terribly small and the bathrooms were even worse.
Location: The hotel sits right on Freemont Street. There are plenty of sites to see within walking distance.
we did not really have a good experience here. It was difficult to get up the gumption to take a shower when there's no hot water and we're chasing away cockroaches.

Great hotel right in the middle of everything.

A friend recommended us this hotel saying that it was great and cheap wich its right. I had a billing issue that I'm still trying to resolve but other than that is a highly recommendable hotel. It's in Fremont st wich is the old strip of Vegas wich I like better than the actual strip. Th room was nice and clean, it's a little louder at night but it's because is Vegas and your in the main st. We enjoyed staying there.

Nice old hotel

Pros: Clean, affordable, historic
Cons: Raise the shower heads to 6'
Location: Right on Fremont Street - the 24 hour free Vegas party. What more could you want?
The Golden Gate is the oldest hotel in Vegas. If you're looking for huge rooms and hot tubs - this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for clean rooms, affordable rates and a little history you'll love it there. I go to Vegas to enjoy Vegas - not to spend my time in a hotel room.
