I really liked this property. It was close to Fremont street. It is known as the Hawaiin hotel. I didn't find it loud. You can hear the music from Fremont street in the weekends but it wasn't disturbing to stop one from sleeping. Close walk to Downtown, the Mob museum, The Neon museum. This area is also not busy as the Strip is and i found it really nice to get around. Ample parking and the staff is helpful. Our room was clean everyday. Only thing i hope for is in the future they can renovate these rooms.

Clean room but no view.
There are 2 different towers which I didn't know. My room turned out to be in the old one. It was clean but the bathroom was very small and cramped. Only one person could fit. Also had one small window which was about 4 feet from a wall which made the room dark even with the blinds open. The wall was my view. Was able to check in early with a fee of $22, but would have waited if I had known that this was one of the old rooms and have asked to be in the newer tower. They don't have coffee in the rooms either.

We were able check in around 1pm into premium room thanks to Fredde the supervisor. Luckily we got the last free wheelchair from security, otherwise expect to pay $65 plus. Bell desk staff helpful holding our baggage till 3:45 pm and got us taxi, I believe his name was Jacob. If you love Oxtail stew or soup Friday at Market Street Cafe is your spot👻

I have been regularly patronizing the California and the adjacent Main Street Hotel for 30 plus years now. Yes, I may be biased in my review but staying in Downtown Vegas satisfies my old school Vegas sentimentality as opposed to the calamity of the Strip. Throughout the decades I’ve found both hotel’s unparalleled in catering to my needs.

Only complaint was that housekeeping did not clean the room and replace towels daily. They did give us towels when we happened to catch them in the hallway and they asked if we needed anything on the second night there. On the third day morning we saw them in the hallway and one of the ladies asked if we wanted the room cleaned. When we said yes, she asked if we wanted the glass cleaned too?! Aren’t they supposed to clean everything without asking what we want cleaned? We thought that was odd.

We enjoyed our stay. This Casino is clean, but a bit smoky (cigarettes? Would have loved more eating options as most restaurants were closed during our stay. I think it's time Casinos offer more dining options instead of being open only 3 - 4 days during the week.
