Family getaway

I was a little weary after reading some reviews BUT we had a great time. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all amazing. We are a family of 4 ( my husband , 2 teenagers and myself) and we all loved it there. We will defenitely be back.

Westin Cabo

Great hotel. Two items need to added. Their own shuttles to/from towns and additional kid friendly restaurants onsite.

Trapped

The Westin Hotel in Cabo is a beautiful property.  Professional staff, excellent service and great food.  It's almost all inclusive if booked with the breakfast and club level feature.  You can expect to shell out some serious cash for anything you don't prepay.  It's also a hotel far enough away from everything that you NEED a rental car.  Taxi to Cabo is 28 dollars and to San Jose Cabo, (Much nicer town) is 18 dollars.  This adds up quick if you want to enjoy the area.  There are trade off's with seclusion.  Lastly, this is a great hotel for the kiddies.  There is a kids club and tons of activities.

This hotel was beautiful

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
We had a very good time at this hotel, but unfortunately we had money stolen from our room. The hotel staff was unacomidating with the incident. There were around 40 people in our group and 5 of our rooms had items missing. The manager claimed it had to be someone from our group. If anyone does go to this particular hotel , lock your money and jewelry, and medication in the room safe. A person shouldn't have to do this, but unfortunately you do. We learned a hard lesson and was very discouraged that it happened.

Not A Good Experience

Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Poor breakfast, room condition was very poor., food options were minimal and expensive
This hotel had several issues that I was very surprised about. The cost is very inflated, given that the property is not in the best shape. Food choices are virtually minimal. Room service menu is also minimal, with over-inflated prices. Much too expensive given the quality and variety of food at the restaurant and room service options. The room was in extremely poor shape. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the pungent odor of dampness/mold. Upon opening the closet door, I noticed a very large dead cockroach. Once in the bathroom, using the shower, I noticed another live roach easily as long as a lipstick canister. Throughout the weekend, I noticed more than 5 within the room, not including other bugs that were crawling around. The first day, after using the shower, I noticed the ceiling by the bathroom door leaking. It would drip for hours. I thought perhaps the AC unit was causing the leak. I later realized that the leaking would start after I used the shower, and would continue for several hours. The ceiling would drip so violently, that walking past, I would get wet. Who knows why type of mold was festering as a result of this issue. The buttons on the phone wouldn't work, and the current rods were missing. In general, I had an extremely poor experience at this property. However, the staff were very kind and courteous. I would not recommend the Westin.

Cannot wait to go back

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, fabulous views
stayed here Chirstmas 2010 with friends- partial sea view was lovely and we saw whales every day from our balcony - room was good and clean, very quiet hotel perfect to relax away from all the noise and activity in Cabo town. We tried all resturants, the fine dining is good but VERY expensive, the Chritsmas buffets were just excellent. The beach was lovely to sit and stroll on and the infinity pool was a delight - I used the spa and service was excellent and my husband took advantage of the gym everyday - I cannot wait to return here

Hotel was overbooked upon arrival.room was ok but toilet didn't flush properly, steam iron leaked water,and bed was dirty,

Cons: Nothing close, Noisy
Hotel was too far away from from the town of Cabo.no swimming in ocean as too big of a rip tide. Lots of walking to get to your room and slow, slow check in....

location, service, comfort and weather....this spot had it all.

i love this vacation spot. the beds are so comfortable, the views are amazing, and the options to go out or stay in are close enough you can cab everywhere.

Would not stay here again

Our family stayed at this Westin as we could not get into our usual time share. Granted, we are use to a very upscale facility, but this Westin does not live up to the Westins that we have stayed in elsewhere. We had to call down three times while we were there to have the bathroom smell taken care of. There were four of us and we consistently only recieved 3 towels. We only got one coffee cup the entire stay. The staff was very friendly. The physical lay out of the resort is beautiful, but there are few activities for the guests. They do have a very nice restaurant. The maid service was just not up to par with what we are used to. We paid to upgrade to an ocean view, and the room was on the side of the building, where you got a small sliver of the ocean. As there are many other beautiful resorts in the area, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your money. Fran A. , Kentucky
