Breakfast menu could have more menu options, I eat mostly plant based and that meant either fruit or toast. This didn't bother me but I found it odd. I had read that housekeeping would only clean every three days; however my unit was cleaned on the 5th day of my 6 day stay.

There was a lamp too low in the room we hit our heads on. the Fire department was staying there and was noisy outside from 9pm to 11pm and again from 4 am to 6am. They continued to restart their trucks, talk outside the rooms, and set of an alarm at 4:30am.

Fire alarms going off in error in the middle of the night and handicap room was not what we requested and not that it was necessarily an issue, we however do not take disabled rooms when we travel out of our personal preference.and no one answered the front desk phone when we tried contacting them for other needs. Room was unclean with stains and dust and old smudged spills on surfaces of counters and furniture.

The room above us was SO loud and the front desk was unwilling to move us or speak with the people in the room so we ended up leaving in the middle of the night because we had a big travel day the next day and needed sleep. With the upstairs people being so loud it was impossible to sleep.

Overall, the stay was good. The downside is that there were ants in the room sporadically throughout the weekend and when I tried to call the front desk to tell them, no one answered. And the front door to the room allowed every little bit of outside noise to come through very clearly which made sleeping difficult. The room was clean and well organized though and the decor was very cute and aesthetic.

Said I would get a refund, but charged me anyway.

I had a reservation to stay at the Sandman at the beginning of August. Unfortunately when I checked into my room, I had an allergic reaction to their cleaning products. I was in my room for less than 30 minutes and I became wheezy and unable to breathe properly. I realized I would be unable to stay there. I immediately went to the front desk and told the attendant what was occurring. She could see I was in distress and spoke to her manager on the phone, who said I could have a full refund. But because I made my reservation through a 3rd party, the supervisor would have to finalize the matter. She then gave me his email information and told me to contact him in case the refund didn’t go through. A couple days later, a charge appeared on my credit card, with no refund. When I emailed the supervisor, I didn’t get a reply. I have since called the property multiple times but he has ignored my calls. I do not recommend this place because they did not honor the refund and they are not willing to call me with an explanation.
