Not the Westin experience I have had elsewhere

Pros: The staff was great and we had a really nice view from our 32nd floor room.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room - it wasn't filthy like someone had just stayed but it didn't feel clean.
Location: The sandwich shop next door looks much better than the food tasted. The halal food truck outside was fantastic.
I stayed at The Westin for the leisure part of my time in NYC, preceding the work part of my trip. I have stayed at other Westin hotels in the US. The staff was mostly on par with my other experiences - friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms felt tired, there was a pile of dust in a corner of the counter, the fridge was not usable of our own items and the bathroom toiletries were almost empty, which added to the feeling the room wasn't clean or the management isn't on top of things. The location was ok - central as far as taxis and access to the subway. There is a convenient 24 hour CVS 1/2 block away and a really good food truck parked outside. Don't bother with the sandwich shop next door - our sandwiches were below average as far as taste despite the really friendly and helpful staff.

Great location

Enjoyed our stay. Location great. Most of staff wonderful except for rude man in luggage room. Comfortable bed. Wonderful pillows! Nice shower. Nice view from 21st floor. Few disappointments: found hair in bathtub when arrived, no frig in room, reading light didn't work, 2 other bulbs out. Noisy at night! Might be nice to provide ear plugs. Just the way NYC is. Sirens etc Be aware wifi is expensive. We decided to live without for the 4 days we were there

Elevators got stuck twice

The desk staff were very nice but faded in comparison to feeling completely unsafe in elevators that got stuck or confused twice leaving me completely unsafe in them over the stay.

Great hotel far from the chaos in Times Square!

We were satisfied with the service all the staff we're all accommodating and helpful. Clean and spacious. There is one thing I would comment on was no refrigerator inside the room. But when we requested it was provided. Thanks! We will come back soon!

Close to Grand Central

Great stay except I prepaid for a continental breakfast for my family and I come to find out it was a very specific light grab n go. Not the buffet or able to choose what we wanted so I left hungry every morning. Staff in restaurant were not friendly or accommodating and talked bad about mgt right in front of us. Never came off their phones the entire time we were there.

Trip to NY

Pros: 3 pm check out
The hotel was ok - the room seemed like it might have been wet at some point. The carpet was pulled up from the floor and the shower curtain was moldy and smelled moldy. The facilities are ok. The staff was not overly helpful. However, they did let us check out at 3 pm and that was nice. The location is ok as long as you don't mind walking. The king bed was hard and not very comfortable. Overall, I would not choose this hotel again if I came to NY.
