Great stay, close to theatre district

The room was suprisingly spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel couldn't do much about the sirens going down the road during the night, but my earplugs could. The shower had amazing water pressure.

Pros: Location was excellent, hotel rate was very good for this area.
Cons: Just some new bathroom doors, as mine in room 1213 was in poor condition at the bottom, and looks like water damage painted over.
Location: Not sure, just a business trip, and too cold to go out walking at night.
Excellent location, hotel is a little dated and it shows, and could use some updating.

Nice location

Pros: Location, cleanliness, nice room size
Cons: as above about the shower
Location: 6 blocks down 51st from Ellen's star dust diner. Very close to St Patrick's and Rockefeller center
We were blocks away from most places we visited and right across the street from the subway. One down side was the bathroom had no fan. If you took a warm shower, the condensation on the ceiling dripped down on you as you were trying to dry off. Doors were warped because of the moisture. Otherwise everything was great. It was so much quieter than where we stayed last year. Could not hear the street noise which was wonderful!

Great Hotel in Midtown for Your Stay in NYC!

Pros: Location, quality, price, and convenience are the highlights of this hotel!
Cons: The things that we would improve are: 1. The size of the "deluxe" room could be a bit more accommodating. 2. The ironing boards could be sturdier.
Location: This hotel is located at the corner of Lexington and E. 51st, which makes it very convenient to walk to several points of interest.
We book this hotel as part of a travel package for a pre-Christmas holiday getaway to New York City. I chose the hotel for a couple of reasons: 1) we are very familiar with the Doubletree brand and are Hilton Honors members; 2) the location being in the heart of Midtown on the East side was in the heart of things we wanted to see and do; and 3) the price was within our budget for the season. Aside from a "jolt" to the start of our stay (courtesy of our taxi being rear-ended by another taxi as we were leaving LGA), we arrived to the hotel and were immediately greeted by one of the friendliest doormen, Tim, who promptly loaded our bags onto a luggage cart for the bellman. Tim would soon become a bright spot to each day we were there with his interest in us through conversation, always asking how our day was going, offering suggestions for places to eat, and making sure we promptly had a cab whenever we required one. Additionally, I have to make mention of one of the bellmen, Ronil, who was equally friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in our satisfaction and enjoyment of our time in New York. As for the hotel itself, we have stayed at many Hilton Doubletree properties, and this one did not disappoint! The hotel had been recently remodeled, and it was clean. Our room was great and shielded from any unnecessary noise from outside. The location is excellent for walking to many Midtown destinations, and cab rides to most other places of interest are reasonable.

A Pre-Christmas Stay in NYC

Pros: Good location on the east side of Midtown.
Cons: Carpet needs to be replaced. Coming apart at the bathroom door.
Location: Two Blocks from Park Ave. Four Blocks from great Bakery's. Six Blocks from Grand Central Station. Eight blocks from Rockefeller Plaza.
My Wife and I had always wanted to spend a few days in NYC prior to Christmas. To see the great museums, The Rocketts, Fox News Studios, Central Park, etc. Loved the sights and sounds of the City with the added snow Central Park became wonderful. We always love finding the Deli's, Bakery's, and of course those awesome NY Bagle's. The pre Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall exceeded anything we could have though of. Just a great show and we'd highly recommend it.

A/C issues

As a Hilton member the intinial room was fantastic. But after a long day me and my family went back to the room to get ready for our dinner party and notice that room was considerable warm. I notified the front desk and they immediately sent up a repair man to address our concerns. He inturn changed out the filter . When we return from our dinner party considerable late, the tempature had not changed. We where moved to the seconded floor with no view , considerable noisy thought the night with staff sounds going in and out of doors adjacent to our room. The next day when we return to the new room, the same A/C problem existed with a warm room. Guest services was contact and the solution was to bring a portable box fan to the room so that it could be place in front on the A/C to circulate the air. This fan had to be left on high 24/7 to make the room comfortable.

Comfort

Pros: Staff was very friendly. It was a great location for us.
Had to sleep with the window cracked because our room was very warm. The air conditioner was not working properly. Actually, I believe they had it controlled so that it would not turn on. Also, at this price point, it would be great to have a mini fridge in the room. I would only recommend this hotel during cooler times of the year.

Good place to stay!

Pros: Location, gym, access to trains
Cons: Bathrooms a bit small.
Location: Eat, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, Central Park. All are walking or close train distance.
Hotel is in a great location, close to the E train and 6 train. Great gym, clean rooms, reasonable price. Bathroom is a bit small, but very minor in comparison to all other perks. I would stay here again!
