It was so nice to relax with room service after a busy day. The whole family loved the pull and hot tub and the beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again.

Better with breakfast!

Pros: Beautiful lobby, underground protected parking.
Cons: Not jacking up the prices so high for special events!
Location: After staying here, we enjoyed a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, then the 17 mile drive before traveling on.
Beautiful hotel, but we were definitely overcharged because of an event in town. The same room a week later would have been almost 1/3 the price. When I asked about breakfast upon check-in, I was told OUR room didn't include it. When checking out, the front desk asked if we enjoyed our stay. When we said we felt slighted because breakfast and parking were not even included at that price, we were given breakfast vouchers. The breakfast was excellent! We felt a bit better after that. The property was beautiful, too after all!

One overnight

Pros: Location, friendly and helpful front desk staff and also the waiter at the restaurant. The dinner we had was quite delicious !
Cons: Height of toilet or grab bar nearby. Lower price for room.
Location: We went to Cannery Row, and sat on the beach near Unscripted.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, room was very clean, beds/pillows comfy. The downside was the cost keeping in mind these few things/suggestions. Neither of us are disabled but we are over 55 and found the toilet to be very very low, making it difficult to get up. We also had some loud noise late at night near midnight doors slamming, loud talking, and at times traffic noise as well. The only other negative was the long walk from the room to the restaurant/lobby if wanting not to go via car.

Very large room near attractions.

Pros: Comfortable lobby to sit with friends. Restaurant across the driveway for breakfast.
Location: We were there to meet with friends that were racing that weekend. It's not really close to that, but close, by car, to other attractions in Monterey.
Comfortable and large room (accessible room). Staff was excellent and attractions are nearby.

Worth the money

Believe it or not, the hotel is much nicer than the pictures. The rooms are very clean and modern. The fitness center has all of the equipment you'll ever need. The pool and hot tub are very nice and the pool is heated to 85 degrees. The area around the pool is extremely nice. However, the outside of the hotel rooms looks a little dated, so it made me think that the rooms were not going to be too nice, but in this case-looks were deceiving. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast. When my partner and I stayed at this hotel, 70% of the occupants were married couples with young children, who were well behaved. The only thing that was a little annoying was the front desk manager(?) I went to the lobby early in the morning to have coffee and while I was sitting next to the fireplace, I could hear that room 136 had an emergency and that room 335 needed more towels. The lobby area is rather large but her voice and the voice of the person mopping the floor could be heard every where. Overall, this is a great place to stay. The location is perfect: not too close to everything, but close enough.

Our stay was enjoyable.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
The front desk was great both days. The room and bathroom were clean and updated. It was generally quiet and our parties slept well. I just had some trouble with the thermostat; it was a little cold. I just hoped they had free wireless.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Very nice, clean hotel. I would come back there. It very close to everything, especially if you have a car. Two minute drive to downtown area. Ten minutes away from Carmel.

Dirty, oversized room, terrible bed, cramped bathroom. Avoid!

Cons: dirty room, uncomfortable bed, no hdtv
I don't understand how this hotel can actually carry the Hilton name. The Junior Suite we stayed in had nothing that a normal king-bed room would have had except about 500+ square feet of useless extra floor space. I could've parked my car in there three times over! For all that extra space, though... no decent places to set luggage except on the floor or on the bed/couch. Also, the bathroom was tiny compared to the huge room. They couldn't expand the bathroom even a few inches to fill the cavernous room outside? The room, for some reason, had *two* huge plasma televisions but no HD programming so the picture was terrible on both of them. No breakfast room service, yet it has a full-service restaurant on site. Huh? The Garden Inn boasts of having these adjustable beds where you can dial up your firmness. However, on our bed these dials did nothing. My side of the bed was as hard as a rock and a good inch higher than my partner's side. I actually rolled into him at one point, unintentionally. The bed in this massive room was put in the corner against the wall with the hallway on the other side, so late at night and early in the morning, we were woken by the sounds and vibrations of children screaming and running. I didn't sleep more than an hour each night. Since the hotel was at capacity, there was no way to switch to any other room. The carpet was stained in multiple places. Clearly this room had been rented by party people and trashed, and poorly cleaned. The underground parking structure is awkward; unless you're driving a mini cooper or a smart car, park outside and walk around the long way. Better yet, just don't stay here. Spend a little more and stay somewhere that actually CARES about you and your business. Stay away. Far, far away.
