"Staff were excellent (except for waiter in the restaurant at night who was gruff and impatient). Room had a weird smell in it when we first entered. Smell eventually went with windows open wide. Breakfast was adequate though busy with tour groups and space felt cramped. Location excellent."

"Excellent service, a beautiful old building and a great location. The room was clean and quiet, even on the lake view side, which is on a busy street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is a 25 minute walk along the beautiful lake path or a short bus ride from the center. Breakfast was fresh and very nice, especially the special poached egg dish. One suggestion I would make is better lighting in the rooms. There is a ceiling chandelier but bright, jarring bare bulb fixtures by each bed. Those need a lampshade or something more directional. There was also no lights near the bathroom mirrors so shaving and makeup, etc. are difficult. Also the bathroom had a window with only a sheer curtain so for privacy you have to pull down the exterior metal shade, which blocks natural light into the room. If the lighting conditions don’t bother you, this is a great place. Would stay again."
