Comfort off the Strip

Seamless check-in with courteous staff. Lots of locals here, plenty of places to eat, movie theater, keno, bingo, sports book and plenty of slots and table games. I left a nice, multi pocket photographer's vest in my room upon checkout. A week later I checked if it had been recovered. Security brought it to me, nicely wrapped in plastic. Have stayed here before and plan to do so again.

Great Hotel - Terrible neighborhood

The Good: The Hotel was excellent and great service and staff. The Bad: The neighborhood surrounding Sams Town has deteriorated to a terrible condition since the last time I was at Sams Town 5 years ago. The surrounding populace is in socio-economic decline which is displayed in the patterns of the people in the 3-5 miles surrounding the Hotel. Although I felt very safe in the Hotel and immediate grounds; but the surrounding area is crime ridden (based on Las Vegas Metropolitan Police crime reports). If you want a Taxi, you will need to arrange for one several hours before as they do not support Sams Town unless called. I had great success using Uber, with only a 3 to 5 minute wait at the Sams Town Valet station each time I requested an per drive using the Uber App on my smart phone. I would stay again, but the neighborhood in perpetual decline bothers me.

Good price off the strip.

We were only staying overnight in Las Vegas and this was a great place and a very inexpensive price.

Worst Experience

When you enter the Casino your always being watched and asked for IDs. A lot of racism is around that hotel I wouldn't recommend people booking at this hotel you don't even get free water even if you stay at the casino. If your trying to have a good time In Vegas I suggest you stay by the strip

Sam's Town

Sam's Town is a great quiet and inexpensive place off the Strip to stay. You will have to figure out transportation if you want to go to the strip or downtown. They have shuttles that go both places regularly during the day and evening but will have to get a cab or Uber to get back if you stay out late. Also can be expensive to get there from the airport. I recommend either Uber or take a cab/shuttle to Harrahs on the strip then hop on the shuttle to get there the rest of the way. It will save you a few bucks. The waterfall was out of commission at Sam's when we stayed this time which definitely detracted from the overall experience. Drinks are cheap at the bars and you can sit and relax in the forest which is absolutely beautiful especially at night!

Sams town is a great place to stay. Its off the strip but close enough to it. The free shuttle to the strip and downtown makes it easy to get to all the activities without the hassle of parking.

The place is friendly and clean.

Location: Having a car is essential, but not a problem for access to other Vegas locations
The entire experience was pleasant and easy. The food had excellent variety and offered good quality.

Great hotel for families!

Pros: Indoor park/waterfall/animatronic animals; dancing water/lights/laser show; bowling alley; restaurants; location; free bus to popular destinations
Cons: Figuring out where to park and how to get to the registration desk was slightly confusing - there are several parking garages and it's a big hotel...
Location: Circus Circus; gondola ride at Venetian; volcano eruption at Mirage; dancing waters show at Bellagio
We were traveling with 2 small children and really enjoyed our experience - we will definitely stay there again if we are in the area. The indoor park and waterfall are lovely and the animatronic animals scattered throughout that area were really neat; the dancing water / lights / laser show was amazing and impressive; the bowling alley was super fun; there was a nice variety of restaurant options; the room was clean, nice, and in good condition; the daily room service was well done (they even made sure the kids' stuffed animals were set up cutely on the pillows) and even though this is a tiny thing, the toiletries they provided were nicer than what most hotels provide. We didn't make it to the movie theater or arcade, but it was nice to know they are available. The only downside for us was that the pool was closed for repairs or maintenance while we were there, but we were able to use the pool at the Sam's Town RV Park that is right next to the hotel, so we were still able to get the kids in the pool. Overall, we were very impressed and happy that we chose Sam's Town for our stay.
