"A best western dressed up in anime"
Imagine a best western with anime inspired decor. The rooms are comfy enough and conveniently located near Japantown. Our room was clean and the service was sufficient. The gym is tiny and only has three pieces of equipment. I would stay here again do to its affordability and location.

"Rate Nob Hill Motor Inn "
Positive: Good Location. Reasonable price. Free Parking Negative: Female front desk employee clearly wants to do something else with her career. She checked me into a room at 5:30 that was not cleaned yet. Walls are thin, and I had loud neighbors that kept me awake until 2pm on a Thursday.

"mixed thoughts"
I would have given it 4 stars but on the second night the bathroom sink plugged up and would not drain. The service guy arrived and did all he could to unblock it but it just got worse so I was moved to a different room. Unfortunately, the room was not the same quality or size that I'd paid for and when I got there the room was cold. I turned up the heat and shut the curtains and it warmed up a bit. I awoke after 1am to being very cold. There was no heat on in the room. I found an extra blanket but with the temp. outside being in the mid-40s I couldn't get warm. I called the front desk and they told me the heat was on a timer and would not be back on until after 3am. They offered to send up a portable heater - which they did and it helped. When I checked out I explained what had happened and no offer of apology or compensation. I might also add that I had a meal in the hotel "bistro" the night before leaving and it left a lot to be desired. I might also add that there aren't many appealing places to eat in the area as it's on the edge of the tenderloin. I want to commend the service guy who was terrific and helped me move in spite of the fact that his job was to fix the sink. Had it not been for the lousy food and the room move, the stay would have been fine. I liked the feel of the place with a combo of the old and the new. It has some charm.

"Clean,Affordable, good location "
Stayed two nights, it rained both nights I was there but didn't spend much time in the hotel anyway. walking distance to the warf and marina district. I got a room with a king size bed, not the prettiest hotel from the outside but the rooms exceeded my expectation of a hotel that price. very clean

"Remodeled interior makes for a great value"
This small hotel in the heart of the Tenderloin district provided a great value close to great entertainment and sights. They have recently remodeled interiors which make up for some of the challenges a budget downtown hotel has. Overall it was a great choice for our weekend visit!
