When I checked in, I specifically asked for a quiet room close to the elevator (as I use a walker). The room turned out to be one of the furthest from the elevator. Further, it was on the Powell side of the hotel—cable car noise. I trekked back down and asked for a quiet room as originally requested—not on Powell. She assures me the new room was much better and even offered an accessible room ( which I don’t need, but appreciated her thoughtfulness. I trek back to the new room. It’s even lower down directly on Powell and the cable car route. I didn’t want to complain again and just sucked it up. However, by rush hour it was a nightmare of noise in addition to being a very rundown room. I called down again at 8 pm to see if something else was available. The new shift had someone who listened, and immediately moved me that night! I wasn’t expecting the move till the next day. That’s service. And the room was much improved in terms of noise and decor.
