Perfect location

Nightmare vacation rental home

We asked to leave 1 hour after entering this home. Boy where do I start. The front door, most of the beds, the shower, the bedroom window, the kitchen cabinets, the living room couch…. All broken. The house was filthy. What looked like poop and blood on all the bedding, the pillows, the walls, doors and floors. I messaged the host right away. All that they did was toss a bag of “clean” bedding at the front door and drove off. We had no choice but to stay the night. It’s spring break and everything was booked. So we changed the bedding to find either mouse poop or cockroach poop in the beds. I demanded to checkout and obtain a refund. They refused. It took me to do an interview with the news press to get them to agree on me do a charge Back with my bank. Absolutely terrible. We had to scramble to find hotel accommodations and ended up staying in Houston to have a clean, safe place for my family.

Family pre Cruise stay

The property was as described minus some updates that could have been addressed prior to our arrival. Our concerns were mentioned to the owner and his response was very quick and appreciated.Overall, the house was very comfortable and welcoming. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us to sleep well and we did. The kids loved there game room and all the beds were very comfortable. We had plenty of cookware and utensils to prepare our meals which was convenient and great.My only suggestion is to fix the issues that were mentioned upon arrival because, the property has a nice home feeling. Lastly, the pool Owl gave me the creeps LOL. One minute its looking to the right, 2nd minute its looking to the left, 3rd minute its looking straight at me LOL. Maybe I had one to many Vodka on the rocks LOL.Continue to be Blessed.Thanks

Not as pictured beware

So first of all when I originally booked it there weren’t any bad reviews so I was ok the pictures look nice.When we arrived in Galveston, it was early. I asked if we if there was anyway we could check in a little earlier as we had a big group. I was trying to get everything set up. I was told when it was finished cleaning we could get in nope we did not get in early. I got the text a week could check in right at 4 o’clock. Upon arrival check in was OK. I guess the key is not electronic like most of them. You have to unlock a box which is on a pole so it’s an old-fashioned key not a code. When we open the door, there is an overwhelming smell of cheap cleaner that burns your nose like Faso or something like that. It stinks not smells clean. Upon inspection of the home found lots of repairs that need to be done if you’re renting out a place you shouldn’t have a broken front door with taped up. You shouldn’t have missing floor pieces along the bathroom. The molding needs desperately painted the window in the back is broken. The patio furniture outside is tattered and torn. Just not what you would expect from a VRBO property, especially in a tourist area like this. Be aware its not as pictured

Great location for our needs staying one night then getting on the ship we were able to take a nice long walk to Stewart Beach and walk to our cruise ship the next day no problem we were comfortable and rested

This house was perfect for our large group to have Thanksgiving at. The host was great to work with & responded quickly when I had a question. The house was deceptively larger on the inside than it appears from the outside. We had no issues with the neighbors even with the houses being fairly close together. Overall it was a great stay & can't wait to go back in the warmer months to take advantage of the pool

Pre-Cruise Vacation

We had a wonderful night staying at this house before our cruise. Everything in the house was as advertised on the listing. The house was perfect for our group. The kids all loved the game room and that was nice to have something to keep them entertained. The host was extremely quick with responses to questions and communication in general. I would highly recommend this listing to any large group.

Disappointed in the cleanliness

Where do I begin? The pool was great. Perfectly placed to be shaded during the early evening hours. After that let’s begin…The floors and bathrooms were disgusting. Some of the bath towels were see through. The furniture is very worn. It was very much appreciated that the cleaning staff came out and cleaned again for us but they didn’t do a very good job and were only there for 10-15 minutes and all they did was spray Fabuloso on the floor and rub it around with a dry mop. We also saw a large amount of bugs and smeared, dead mosquitoes all over the walls. The place has a lot of potential but some TLC is needed.

Good for large groups

We had a large group stay here and it worked well for us. While there were some cleanliness issues and some things that needed repairs, overall we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, the arcade games were a huge hit with all ages and the pool was great as well. Russell was quick to reply and easy to work with. We’d stay here again on another trip to Galveston.

Pictures are misleading - place is gross

We paid top dollar to stay here for 3 nights thinking this was a nice place. It’s the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. Outside of cleaning toilets and changing sheets (hopefully), I don’t think they clean. There is dirt, grime, and filth all over the walls, doors, and baseboards. We had a bug issue with a ton of bugs coming into one of the bedrooms during the night bc the window doesn’t close completely. Also, the washer and dryer smell like moldy mildew nastiness. The pool was dirty. The second bathroom flooring is coming up and is in pieces. There are no toilet paper holders or towel holders in either bathroom. Also in the “game room” they must have ran out of flooring because part of the room is just concrete. One of the beds is covering it so you wouldn’t know, except you have to move the bed to use the ladder to get to the top bunk because they put the ladder up against the wall. They also say they have a dining room table, but there isn’t one. You have to eat at the kitchen island or on the couches. Lastly they have a giant security light right outside of two of the bedrooms (that’s what attracted the bugs) that makes it like daylight when it’s nighttime. If you like it dark when you sleep, bring a sleep mask because you won’t get sleep here. I would never stay here again and next year when everyone comes down for the beach tournament, I’ll make sure everyone we know knows not to stay here.
