"Excellent hotel"
We were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. Great location right off the interstate. Close to many restaurants and shopping, tourist venues. Amazing free breakfast buffet. Quiet, comfortable and clean rooms. Everything you could want in a hotel.

"Aging Place"
I found the Hotel Elegante to show her age. Out dated carpeting lined the hallway floors, wear marks show over painted walls. Really, to be fair it was in decent shape. I found no structural failures, i.e. leaking windows, doors were tight and well fitting. No settling cracks in the walls. The staff was helpful and there were many employees at the facility. I thought that there should have been a continental breakfast included with the price of the stay but that was not to be. The restaurant that was in the building was merely ok. Prices were high and breadfast fare was less than what one could find at a Holiday Express and at $12.00 for the buffet it was lacking. There were no other restaurants within walking distance which restricts travelers to pay their price or drive to a different eatery. I would stay again at the Hotel Elegante but would be more prepared for my stay. I would bring snacks and drinks for my time there and not rely on their convenience store. The pool area was a nice place, lots of plants and natural light. Perhaps a safety rope between the shallow and deep areas would have been more reassuring for those with young swimmers. No lifeguard on duty so parents need to be extra watchful. All in all the Hotel Elegante was above average but not by much.

"Location"
The location is great. So with no other real option around it is pretty nice. The rooms are old and need updating. The staff was great and the room was clean.

"Beautiful Historic Manitou"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. They have restored an historic building built in 1873. Each room has a fireplace, and many have over-sized jet bath tubs. The decor is detailed with molded ceilings, period wallpaper, prints of famous paintings from the era including French impressionist artists, lovely period-style fixtures in doors, lights and sinks, lace sheers on the windows and beautiful views of the town. They are quiet rooms in comparison with other historic hotels I have visited. The valet service is reasonably priced, and most of the quaint, fun, interesting town is within walking distance. Parking in town is all pay-to-park, so this service is well worth the price for car safety and convenience. In addition to these amenities is the exquisite dining experience in the hotel dining room. Beautifully arranged, it is set with fine utensils, oil lamps and white cloth table cloths. The chef is magnifique! Honestly, the dinner was one of the best I have ever experienced. My partner had the scallops, which were perfectly seared -- tender and seasoned lightly to bring out their flavor. I enjoyed medium-rare beef tenderloin that almost could have been cut with a fork. The outer layer was flame broiled and utterly mouth watering. The mashed potatoes were swirled into a ridged design and flamed crisp on top, with a lovely smooth texture inside. Each plate was designed with beautiful artistry. And the flourless chocolate cake was decadent indeed. Go! Enjoy!

"Nice amenities close to airport"
I chose this hotel because of 3 things: 1. Close proximity to airport (late night arrival, early morning departure) 2. Free shuttle to/from airport 3. Free breakfast When I arrived, I was upgraded to a king suite, a large room with sofa and kitchenette (sink, coffee area, fridge). The bed was comfortable and clean. The reasons I only gave the condition a "3" include not being supplied shower gel (I ended up asking a housekeeper in the hallway for some), my room being only partially cleaned when I returned one night (bedding was in a pile on the floor; a bellman came to make up the bed), and the housekeeper was charging her phone on my charger when I came back during the day. All of these were easily rectified but were unusual circumstances for a hotel. The reasons I gave the hotel an overall rating of 4 was because all 3 of my reasons for choosing the hotel were met (see top). Above and beyond those, we also were given a coupon for discounted food in the restaurant and coupons for free drinks, which we used and were pleased with the quality of the food and service. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hot tub was nice. We enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel again in the same circumstances.

"Great price for the cost"
This hotel is a great place to stay for the price. It is not the quietest place we have ever stayed - but positioned next to a great restaurant - Maggie Mays - for breakfast, meetings, etc. We had no problem with the staff, the condition of the room, or the cleanliness. We generally stay here when in Colorado Springs.

"The staff is excellent, especially Hector!"
I had a very nice experience with this hotel. Was easy to find and conveniently located. The staff was very courteous, friendly and accommodating. I was slightly surprised you had to ask for utensils and a coffee maker, etc. They used to keep (years ago) these things stocked in the rooms, however, once requested they immediately brought what I requested to my room. You do not get daily housekeeping without an additional fee but this was fine, how often do you change your sheets and towels when at home? Not everyday, and I was there for 3 nights so it was no problem. There are also laundry facilities on sight. Plenty of outlets for plugging in a multitude of devices.
