"Nice Room - Great Breakfast"
We stayed at the Academy Hotel for three nights. The Hotel was clean and staff very attentive, The free breakfast is a full breakfast buffet, complete with an omelet chef. The hotel is an easy to get to, located directly off I-25, but far enough off the interstate to limit highway noise. There are many things to see and do under an hour's drive from the hotel. Dining options \are unlimited. The only complaint I could list would be the AC/Heating unit which was loud even on a low fan setting. We had to unplugged the unit to resolve this problem.

"Beautiful Historic Manitou"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. They have restored an historic building built in 1873. Each room has a fireplace, and many have over-sized jet bath tubs. The decor is detailed with molded ceilings, period wallpaper, prints of famous paintings from the era including French impressionist artists, lovely period-style fixtures in doors, lights and sinks, lace sheers on the windows and beautiful views of the town. They are quiet rooms in comparison with other historic hotels I have visited. The valet service is reasonably priced, and most of the quaint, fun, interesting town is within walking distance. Parking in town is all pay-to-park, so this service is well worth the price for car safety and convenience. In addition to these amenities is the exquisite dining experience in the hotel dining room. Beautifully arranged, it is set with fine utensils, oil lamps and white cloth table cloths. The chef is magnifique! Honestly, the dinner was one of the best I have ever experienced. My partner had the scallops, which were perfectly seared -- tender and seasoned lightly to bring out their flavor. I enjoyed medium-rare beef tenderloin that almost could have been cut with a fork. The outer layer was flame broiled and utterly mouth watering. The mashed potatoes were swirled into a ridged design and flamed crisp on top, with a lovely smooth texture inside. Each plate was designed with beautiful artistry. And the flourless chocolate cake was decadent indeed. Go! Enjoy!

"Good Downtown Location"
Hotel was nice, nice lobby. Rooms felt a little outdated for a 4-star hotel... Shower heads use an absurd amount of water. Was put right next to the elevator and ice machine. Not sure if this was because I got the room for $50 under the normal rate? Was kind of noisy during the afternoon. Quieted down at night. There is an underground parking garage if your vehicle is 6'8" or less. Parking is $17/night for self park and $22/night for valet. Street parking is limited, with meters till 6pm and a 2 hour max during meter times. If you have a vehicle over 6'8" (like I do) you can park in an unprotected lot (for the same $17). It is the lot right across from the bargain book warehouse. Staff is very friendly, was greeted by almost every staff member I passed in the halls, including maintenance.

"wonderful scenery and spacious rooms"
We loved the size of the rooms. Huge closet and his and her vanities. We saw a lot of wildlife each morning at breakfast and in the evening. Beautiful view of Garden of the Gods. Resort seems to cater to the older generation.

"Great value and family-friendly"
Our family really enjoyed the complete kitchen facilities of our suite. It's true that it wasn't super fancy, but after paying 3x the amount for a downtown Denver hotel with only a 1-cup coffee maker, it was "sweet" to make microwave popcorn; heat milk on the stovetop for cocoa; and fill the fridge with drinks, sandwich makings, etc. The breakfast was plentiful and greatly appreciated by our teenaged sons.

"The whole family was happy with the room"
Great value! We had plenty of room for our large teen boys. We will definitely return to this hotel and use the kitchen for meals. Everyone had a television near bed, although sound did bleed over a bit. Upstairs had its own bathroom and main bedroom was private. The traffic noise was noticeable, but I have rarely gotten away from that in any hotel. Overall everyone was impressed and very pleased.
