"Beautiful Historic Manitou"
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. They have restored an historic building built in 1873. Each room has a fireplace, and many have over-sized jet bath tubs. The decor is detailed with molded ceilings, period wallpaper, prints of famous paintings from the era including French impressionist artists, lovely period-style fixtures in doors, lights and sinks, lace sheers on the windows and beautiful views of the town. They are quiet rooms in comparison with other historic hotels I have visited. The valet service is reasonably priced, and most of the quaint, fun, interesting town is within walking distance. Parking in town is all pay-to-park, so this service is well worth the price for car safety and convenience. In addition to these amenities is the exquisite dining experience in the hotel dining room. Beautifully arranged, it is set with fine utensils, oil lamps and white cloth table cloths. The chef is magnifique! Honestly, the dinner was one of the best I have ever experienced. My partner had the scallops, which were perfectly seared -- tender and seasoned lightly to bring out their flavor. I enjoyed medium-rare beef tenderloin that almost could have been cut with a fork. The outer layer was flame broiled and utterly mouth watering. The mashed potatoes were swirled into a ridged design and flamed crisp on top, with a lovely smooth texture inside. Each plate was designed with beautiful artistry. And the flourless chocolate cake was decadent indeed. Go! Enjoy!

"Clean room, easy interstate access, and then there are the buffalo burger"
My husband and I were super happy with this hotel. It isn't the most attractive hotel from the outside, but stay here!!! The cruise ship/Atlantic City carpet is not my style either but it's no big deal. The check-in was friendly and easy, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfy. The tv was a little smaller than I like but the picture quality was great; we rented a movie on it which is something we almost never do. The indoor pool area is spacious and clean. We didn't use the outdoor one, but it looked nice too. Room service prices are better than at most hotels (don't get me wrong, it's not cheap - just comparatively cheaper). Let's get to Rick's Bar. We were very hesitant to eat dinner at the hotel - thought we would miss out on a having a nice local flavor meal. Wrong. The buffalo patty melt was absolutely fantastic. It's exactly what I wanted to eat in Colorado. The service from the blond male bartender was very professional. If we were in the area again, I would love to stay there. Although we stayed as a couple, it seemed like a good large group hotel.

"Good Downtown Location"
Hotel was nice, nice lobby. Rooms felt a little outdated for a 4-star hotel... Shower heads use an absurd amount of water. Was put right next to the elevator and ice machine. Not sure if this was because I got the room for $50 under the normal rate? Was kind of noisy during the afternoon. Quieted down at night. There is an underground parking garage if your vehicle is 6'8" or less. Parking is $17/night for self park and $22/night for valet. Street parking is limited, with meters till 6pm and a 2 hour max during meter times. If you have a vehicle over 6'8" (like I do) you can park in an unprotected lot (for the same $17). It is the lot right across from the bargain book warehouse. Staff is very friendly, was greeted by almost every staff member I passed in the halls, including maintenance.
