So first thing you need to know is that this building is old. My main issue is the doors to each room. They slam! And loud! Even if you just let it go behind you. Secondly, if anyone is in any room above you, you can hear them. Walking, talking, in the bathroom etc. As other reviews state the rooms need updates. Especially the carpet. The third thing, make sure you bring your own pillow! The pillows they have here, suck. The free drink happy hour and snacks are great! The staff was great, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.

The good- location! Right on king street, near College of Charleston, and a wide open green space. The bad- the hotel is in need of an upgrade. The rooms are old, wallpaper peeling, carpet, older furnishings.

My wife and I paid over $400 per night, with valet parking and taxes, to stay at the Embassy Suites on Meeting Street. The location is fine and the staff was very friendly and helpful. But the facility is badly in need of a major refresh. The room was big but dirty and dingy and very tired. The common areas were no better. Breakfast was better than expected but that was really the only pleasant surprise. If the cost had been $100 or $120 we could have overlooked some of the very Rough edges at this property. As it is I would recommend paying a little more to stay in one of the actually nice hotels in town.

First I want to start off by saying the staff is absolutely AMAZING. Valet parking is $48 if you don't park yourself. We tried to park our vehicle but could not find any open spots in the parking garage we were directed to. The hotel could definitely needs to upgrade several things. The carpet looks like something on a Putt Putt course. Our toilet ran constantly. We informed the front desk and they said they would get maintenance to check it out. We were out the entire day but left our do not disturb sign so if they came and saw that I own that but figured maybe we'd get a call or something. The facet in the bathtub dripped and the shower curtain was broken. The location is perfect as we were visiting our son who goes to cofc and we were very close to him. The breakfast was awesome and there is a nightly reception with drinks and snacks. Always felt safe. But for the amount of money we spent a night we expected more.

Great location, walking to lots of dining and shopping, lots of charm and unique, not a cookie cutter. However, the rooms need updating, AC not working properly, toilet flush on its on every 10 mns, need painting and renovation. Staff very nice and helpful.

Our room was gross. Dirty carpet, paint peeling off a furniture and the doors in the bathroom. The bathtub had mold and rust in different areas. The curtain was torn off the rod, and if you looked up and in the corners of the room, it looked like there was mold growing. I also ordered a room that cost extra to have your snacks and water refilled every day. They never did. I went down to the desk. They apologized and said they’ll be sure that it would be done. the next day it never happened. The staff is very nice, but that embassy suites needs a big renovation!

The property is in need of some upkeep. They were reapplying plaster to the exterior of the building just outside our room, which sounded like a small jackhammer for the entire day of Friday. The room showed signs of aging, old carpet, some peeling baseboard, paint and some peeling wallpaper. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable and generally pretty clean. It was dusty, but maybe that was because of the jackhammering of the old plaster on the exterior. Vallet parking was excellent. The two hour free, cocktails, and snacks was also wonderful! It’s close walking distance to many good restaurants and sites. There’s also a free municipal bus service down to the historic district and other parts of the city.
