Marriott did not live up to its brand. I do not normally do reviews because it seems like a waste of time, no one cares, and it sounds like another "dissatisfied customer". Well, I am not that customer but I do think the Marriott team should be aware of how their brand is being represented. My wife and I were excited to spend our first time at Hilton Head. We normally stay with Marriott even though not having the best review, my wife and I took a chance. After arriving, everything was going as expected until we enter the room, and what we thought was an ocean front was a garden view. After I went to explain to the front desk, they gave me another room with an upgrade charge. This is when things really went down the tube. The room was smaller and it was the worst ocean-front room we ever stayed in. So we decided to leave the hotel because we thought it was going to get worst. Well the front desk could see that we were not please so they gave us another room which was acceptable which could have happened with the first room. We arrived at about 8:15 pm and now it is 9:30 before we were able to get into the room we eventually stayed. After entering the room, phone never worked, the balcony door would not lock, therefore maintenance was sent to our room to repair which took another hour. It was 10:45 pm before we took full possession of the room. Later, loud knocking at door. It got worked out thanks to Jessica but we would like to stay there again to have different experience.

The property is one of those that is def older but you can tell was once an amazing place to be. I loved the area. It is right on the beach. Gorgeous views. Our room was not the cleanest and smelled of mold. Just seemed like a motel 6 type of half cleaned situation. Not really a high dollar beach front hotel situation that it could be. However, the staff were friendly and the property is beautiful. Also there is a stray kitty the feed which I adored.
