Great staff. Our plane was delayed by 5hrs and we arrived at the hotel at 1am. They couldn’t have been nicer and upgraded us at no charge to a suite. The hotel is perfectly located for walking around the Downtown and the restaurant had great food and great service.

The Francis Marion Hotel was ideal for making the most of our stay in Charleston. The location is extraordinary for accessing everything in the city on foot. The room had everything we needed. The team was welcoming and helpful. This is not a hotel to choose if you are looking for amenities like a good gym, hot tub or pool. But the delicious cookies put out every afternoon / evening make up for that!

It was all ok - not really any complaints but didn’t really stand out either. Its best attribute is the location which we found very central and walkable. We enjoyed Charleston. If the rate is exceptional, don’t be discouraged, just don’t expect much.

The rooms are a bit dated and could use an updated remodel. Our room had 2 bathrooms, which was nice but both bathrooms were TINY. It was hard to even blow dry hair. I’ve had larger bathrooms on a train.
