Pretty overpriced with hidden fees for things I didn’t really want. They have made this pretty nice hotel into a “ resort “ in Monterey. Was hit with very expensive parking fee and a “ destination fee” that resulted in paying 75$ more than I expected. I didn’t want a 12$ glass of wine or a s’mores kit! It’s a very nice location right on the beach which I was looking forward too. But we didn’t get a room with a view. And when I inquired I was informed that would 70$ extra. This was all handled very badly, it would have been nice to know about the extra charges ahead of time when I booked. The first impression of the place left me in a bad mood. This got a bit better after we swam in the pool which was heated and big enough to swim in.

Room were noisy, windows were not sound proof and there was gap below the door making the room extremely noisy due to wind outside. Non-friendly staff, tried to over charge multiple times and also billed us for the room charges when our room as already paid through Expedia. The front desk acted as if he doesn’t even know the room is pre-paid and seemed odd. I had to call them later to get the refund which they did but the whole experience was very odd. Specially since I had that conversation whole checking in and also checking out. In today’s date I find it difficult to believe that the front desk didn’t have the data that the room is prepaid, and tried to duplicate the charge which were eventually refunded

The hotel is on the beach which made the stay wonderful. We could hear the ocean waves from our room. There are gas fire pits on the ocean side of the hotel that are turned on in the evening which makes it even nicer. The room was cozy. It did not have carpeting to attract the sand from our walk on the beach, but it did nice flooring. The only negative comment I have is that the room above ours had dogs and we could hear their nails on the floor as they walking around in the room. I do not have an issue with pet friendly hotels, but feel the bottom floors should be designated for guests with pets.

We were disappointed when we first arrived to find out the sauna and ice bath were not available. We were told nothing about that previously to our stay . Upon getting to the room, we discovered that the Google Chrome on the TV was not working. We called front desk but we’re told that there was an outside issue and there was nothing they could do about it so we had no TV except for regular cable, which is not what we were expecting. The ice machine and water dispenser on our floor were also not working the entire time of our stay. we called for room service early in the morning and room service did not get to our room to service it until about 4 PM. We rented the bikes, my husband’s bike turned off, and we had to ride it back manually the second bike he grabbed the same thing, but we’re still charged. we had planned to have a relaxing weekend at the hotel and spent the extra money for location because of the ice baths the sauna the hot tub and being on the beach with also being able to stream movie services we figured we could have a nice relaxing stay with all of the services not working we ended up having to spend a lot more money going and finding things to do and that’s not what we planned. I will also be reaching out to corporate.

Place was amazing! Staff was professional and friendly. They have fireplaces outside that over look the ocean and you can walk down to the beach. Pet friendly and everything is close by.

The appearance of the hotel was satisfactory when I entered the front door. There was no one at the front desk. I had to wait a couple minutes in order for someone to show up. I checked in. It went smoothly with the exception of when they told me that there was a $200 deposit on my card and then after they ran my card, they asked me if I had parking and I said yes I drove here. They proceeded to say that there was an additional $65 for parking plus a $25 service fee. I feel like they snuck it in on me and manipulated me. I will never come to this location again.

Great view. Clean and stylish room. The room facing the ocean doesn't have very good noise isolation though. The ocean sound is pretty loud in the room.
