"Great bed for sleeping; not a place to hang out"
This is a great old hotel close to The Common. With a queen-sized bed, the room size was fine. The bathroom is very small - one person at a time - and minimal lay-down space. We were there to visit family, so for a place to shower and sleep, it was fine.

"Comfortable old style hotel in a great location"
If you like staying at old-style traditional hotels, you'll probably like the Taj. Chic and sleek it is not. More like visiting a favorite elderly auntie who never got around to updating her furniture, but takes good care of you from the moment you arrive. Like most urban hotels of its era, the rooms are a bit cramped. Our 1 bedroom queen suite overlooking the Public Garden had a terrific view and adequate space, once we got it. On check-in, that suite was not available for the first night, so we were shown to an enormous king suite with no view at all, and very little furniture. The manager made amends with complimentary breakfast for the rest of the 3 night stay. All in all we enjoyed the visit, and will go back again.

"Great hotel with a history!"
If you want a great location in the Back Bay, this is a perfect choice! Hard to believe it was once Police Headquarters, but Loews did a great job of maintaining the historic façade with modern, plush rooms. Wifi service was spot on for 3 devices, and lots of great restaurants & shopping nearby, including a nice café in the hotel basement.

"Good but hiccups"
We have friends that stay here everytime they come to Boston. Its a great hotel in a great location. We checked in around 1 a.m. on Thursday night. They had given our king room away and placed my husband and I in a double. We did get to switch rooms the following day. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. Our last night, Saturday, around 3 in the morning we heard very loud dripping coming from the AC vents. I am a very heavy sleeper and it even woke me up. The only way my husband could get it to stop was by turning the AC down for it to kick back on. He continued to do that the rest of the night. We notified the hotel and they waved our mini bar water purchases for our inconvenience. Since it was in the middle of the night we did not want to be playing musical rooms but I think we just had a fluke stay. I would probably stay somewhere else next time if we plan far ahead but if not I would try to give them another chance.

"Great location, wonderful staff"
We don't get to Boston as often as we'd like and, in the past, have stayed close to whatever drew us into town (e.g., for a birthday party in FiDi, we stayed two blocks from the event; tickets to a show--stayed in the theater district). However, this is the third time we've stayed at the Fairmont Copley and we've decided that, without any compelling reason to go elsewhere, we're going to make the Fairmont Copley our home base in Boston. Everything is just so good, we'd rather Uber or cab to get wherever we're going than walk from a closer hotel. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and the staff is (in our experience) well-trained, friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and willing to try to accommodate special requests. This trip, we arrived early for an event in the afternoon, so I called when we were about a half hour away to ask if early check-in would be possible. We were graciously accommodated. Sunday morning, we also asked if we could leave our vehicle in the garage and our bag at coat check for a few hours after checking out so we could have brunch with our daughter late Sunday morning without having to find parking on the snow-packed streets. I'm sure it is not always possible to coordinate such requests, and we understand that, but it was very nice to once again have our special requests accommodated. The food and service in the Oak Bar is wonderful. The rooms are well-appointed and the common areas are simply beautiful.

"Had a great stay!"
Hotel is very nice in the heart of Boston next to the Public Library and walking distance to Newbury street where we love to window shop. Only negative was the valet was filled the first night when we got there so we parked in local parking garage (which on a positive note, saved us approx. $15 on parking) however, once you leave the garage it is difficult to find your way through the mall to get to the Westin (esp when you're carrying luggage) However, we were able to get out much quicker at checkout than others that had to wait for the Valet to bring their car around. The staff was very nice, rooms were very clean (I'm very picky) and I really liked the location of the hotel itself. Also I liked the fact that you were connected to the mall so when it rained we simply took the sky bridge over and walked through the mall where there are various restaurants located (cheesecake factory, au bon pan, starbucks). Also, few hotels have a pool so we were happy to utilize this one. We would definitely stay here again in the future!
