Secluded Wooded Cabin w/HotTub, FirePit, Fireplaces, Near National Park Entrance

THE MOUNTAIN AIR EXPERIENCE: Escape the neon lights and "cabin graveyards" of the tourist strip and find your sanctuary at Mountain Air.

Tucked away in a private "holler" in Wears Valley--known as the quiet side of the Smokies--this isn't just a rental; it's a true wooded retreat. Whether you are looking for a cozy winter "hibernation" by our two fireplaces or a Spring Break adventure near the National Park and Cades Cove, you've found the perfect basecamp.

Privacy & Seclusion.

What sets Mountain Air apart is what you *won't* see: other cabins.

We are surrounded by forest and a seasonal rain-fed creek, offering outstanding privacy on our elevated rear deck and hot tub. It's just you, the trees, and the local wildlife.

WHY GUESTS LOVE OUR LOCATION: We are located just 6 miles from the Metcalf Bottoms entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This "locals' secret" entrance lets you bypass the heavy traffic of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, giving you quick access to Cades Cove, hiking trails, and river picnics.

COZY INTERIOR & SINGLE-LEVEL LIVING: Designed for relaxation, the cabin features a single-level layout (no stairs to navigate inside!).
・Living Area: Curl up on the queen sleeper sofa by the gas fireplace (active Oct-Mar).
・Master Suite: A true retreat featuring a King-sized bed, its own private gas fireplace, and an ensuite bath.
・Bunk Room: Perfect for kids or friends, featuring a twin-over-full bunk and an ensuite bath with a relaxing jetted tub.
・Kitchen: Well-equipped for home-cooked meals with all the essentials.
・Laundry: Washer and dryer available for stays of 5 nights or more.
・Wi-Fi
・DishTV for entertainment
・Games and books to help "reconnect"

OUTDOOR LIVING:
・The Deck: Soak in the private hot tub while listening to the sounds of the forest.
・The Fire Pit: Roast marshmallows and stargaze at our dedicated outdoor fire pit (firewood available locally).

THE "LOGISTICS" (Please read before booking):

We want your stay to be perfect! To ensure we are the right fit for your group, please review these important details:

1. The Road: To get this much privacy, you have to climb! Access is via a private road (not owned by us) that some may consider steep. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) is strongly recommended. During winter (Jan/Feb), snow chains are advisable for the rare unexpected snowfall. Low-clearance vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles are not recommended. We recommend taking it "slow and easy"--getting to Mountain Air is worth it! We do have a video of the drive that you can find by searching the web for #mountainair37862.

2. Firm Booking Requirements: To finalize your stay, the primary guest must:
・Sign our Renter Agreement.
・Provide a government-issued photo ID.
・Authorize a $300 refundable security deposit (processed as a temporary "hold" on your card).

3. Pet Policy: We welcome one (1) housebroken dog under 30lbs. A pet fee applies. We ask that pups remain off the furniture and are crated if left alone in the cabin.

4. Connectivity: We provide Wi-Fi, but please note that cell service is weak in our secluded "holler." Internet speeds can vary due to our mountain location and satellite connection--it's the perfect place to unplug!

5. Nature & Safety: We are in the wilderness. You may see bears, turkeys, other 4-legged critters, snakes, or insects. Despite being on a comprehensive pest control program, insects do sometimes get into the cabin as we are located in the deep woods and, frankly, they were here first. We also utilize an exterior front-door video camera and a noise decibel monitor (volume levels only; no recording).

One of the best things about staying on the "quiet side" is that you’re close to everything, but away from the noise.

・6 Miles ⏤ Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Access the park via the peaceful Metcalf Bottoms entrance. Perfect for a river picnic or a hike to the Walker Sisters Place.
・8 Miles ⏤ Scenic Foothills Parkway: Known for the "missing link," this drive offers some of the most stunning panoramic views in the country.
・13 Miles ⏤ Cades Cove: The most popular spot in the park for wildlife viewing (keep your eyes peeled for bears and deer!) and historic homesteads.
・14 Miles ⏤ Pigeon Forge: Home to Dollywood, The Island, world-class dinner shows, and endless mini-golf.
・19 Miles ⏤ Gatlinburg: Visit the SkyLift Park, Anakeesta, or the famous Ripley’s Aquarium.
・22 Miles ⏤ Ober Mountain: Tennessee’s destination for skiing, tubing, and mountain adventures.

WINTER & SPRING AT MOUNTAIN AIR:

Our two gas fireplaces are active from October 1st through March 31st, making this the ultimate "hygge" winter escape. For Spring Break travelers, you'll be perfectly positioned to see the wildflowers bloom without the Gatlinburg crowds.

We've hosted hundreds of happy guests over 9+ years and would love to help you experience the "Quiet Side of the Smokies."

Fantastic cabin! Very clean, cozy and comfortable! Spent Thanksgiving there and was very peaceful. Check in easy, owners very responsive. The only issue is....you need to make sure you go up to the cabin during daylight hours. The road is not great, very narrow and has been beat up. We arrived after dark and was a little sketchy to get to the cabin, but once there was very nice. After the first night, we made sure we were back in before dark. Grateful for the stocked kitchen as we had gotten groceries and cooked in the other option was to get takeout to reheat before you head back up the hill before dark :). Make sure you have a good vehicle - 4x4 would be best. We had a minivan and did the job. All and all, a peaceful property!

We've been coming to Pigeon Forge for almoat 15 years, and this was the most secluded and private cabin we've stayed in, and we were so happy with that feature. A 4WD vehicle is a must for this one, and our Durago was a champ. You wont have "scenic" views here, but you will have peace and quiet and no neighbors. The property was spotless, inside and out. We saw no spiderwebs/cobwebs, there was no musty smell. Fireplaces, hot tub, Internet and all appliances worked well. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants at the main road. This was just beautiful in November, but glad we got out before the snow. This will be a stunning property in spring with the wild rhodedendrum on the mountainside. Take a screenshot of the door lock code before arriving. Be mindful of all wildlife and livestock. We would stay here again.

Location , the tranquility of fireplace in the living room and master bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked with needed tools and dishes . I wouldSuggest going with an all wheel drive car or 4x4 vehicle due to steep gravel road to the cabin. All furnishings are comfortable. The cabin is near all Resturant and country stores . We loved our stay . The host respond promptly if a there is a question or need . We recommend Mountain Air for your next stay .

Very secluded cabin but less than 10 minutes to main road in Wears Valley. Master bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking in instead of eating out alot. Bring your groceries and enjoy the privacy. The road is intimidating the first couple times you try it, but watch the video and drive slow and its no problem. Had a big black bear wander around the firepit our first day there. Highly recommend.

The information provided before our stay was incredible! Every attention to detail, including a video of the road to the cabin. The cabin is cozy and nestled in the wooded mountain. It is well stocked with everything you could need. The starter packs (shampoo, paper towel, etc.) are generous. Communication with the host was excellent and speedy! We highly recommend this get-away!

Peaceful Retreat in the Perfect Setting!

We had an amazing stay! The location was absolutely perfect for us—peaceful, secluded, and exactly the kind of quiet retreat we were looking for. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the comfy bed and the overall sense of calm throughout the space. One unexpected and incredible bonus: we saw a big black bear walking up the creek bed behind the cabin! It was such a memorable experience and made us feel truly connected to the natural surroundings.Communication with the hosts was seamless—they were friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from start to finish. The guidebook they provided was incredibly helpful, covering everything we needed to know (and more!) to enjoy our stay comfortably and confidently. All in all, it was a peaceful, wonderful getaway, and we’re already hoping to return.

Excellent Cabin

This cabin by far exceeded our expectations. Very clean, comfortable, secluded just as advertised. The owners gave an APP for rental that told you everything you needed to know about the rental, surrounding area, Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, ect. Exceptional host! Due to its secluded location, I highy recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Owners also send a video of the drive to the cabin that was extremely beneficial! We will definitely book again.

Great secluded cabin!

Loved how secluded and quiet this cabin was! The porches were great with a swing and rocking chairs and jacuzzi. Master had a comfortable bed. The creek was cute too, but there were fallen trees that made it a little hard to reach. The roads getting there were a little rough, need a 4 wheel drive. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again! The hosts were very accommodating and allowed us to make a change to the reservation as well as late checkout, which we appreciated.

Absolutely AWESOME!

I give my hosts, Chuck and Vicki, 5 Stars ONLY because you wont let me give them 10. Quiet, secluded, remote location with spectacular views. The cabin itself was way better than the online listing photos and exceeded our EVERY expectation.Very clean with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Soft comfortable bed with plenty of warm bedding for those chilly nights. And despite the remote location WiFi was strong and reliable. And the Hot tub...what a way to end each day of hiking and exploring. .And the hosts...second to none. They put together a personalized electronic booklet that covered just about everything....from before we left home, arrival /checking in, and departing. It covered the cabin itself, safety info, local activities, food and drink, and some great drives in and around the Smoky Mountains. I referred to the booklet several times to help plan our day. I cannot say enough about the time and effort they put into making that. It was indispensable to making our trip as enjoyable as we had hoped. There were absolutely no "surprises" and when I had any questions I received an answer within minutes...almost like they were sitting by the computer waiting. They raised the bar in customer service. I HIGHLY recommend staying there, you wont regret it.
